So we are thinking of booking Hawaii Aulani for December starting day after Christmas. Or during February. Does anyone know how difficult it is to book at those times?we own at Grand Floridian so we we can not book for a while? Is this a difficult resort and time to get into?

Christmas is one of the hardest times to get Aulani at the 7 month window. February would be easier.
Last year (2013) we managed to get dates from Christmas Eve through till right before New Years Eve. This required snatching up the first 3 days (the only ones that were available when our window opened) in a 1 bedroom and then checking the website each day to see what availability was like.

I managed to string 6 days together in the end (1 night in a studio and then the next 5 nights in a 1 bedroom) and it was a great trip.

The hardest categories to get are the lower point room views so Standard View is the first to go and then Island and poolview. Ocean View is usually the last booking category to get snatched up so if you have enough points for OV then it may be easier.

We built in 4 days in Waikiki to get the full trip we had wanted of 10 days. Next time we are also going to add some days up on the north shore at Turtle Bay resort.
