My family wants to got to Disneyland next year- we want to stay on points at Disney's Grand Californian- how difficult to book at 7 months? Has anyone tried in mid summer and been successful??? Thanks for any help or guidance. :goodvibes

Clearly whether others have been successful or not will relate to your experience when you call MS to make the reservation. There will either be availability or not.

However, although we own at VGC our first visit was April 2010 when we made reservations at 2 months; then February 2011 when we made reservations at 4 months. Our next stay at VGC is in October when we made reservations at just over 7 months, meaning it was still in the 7 to 11 month window. I think it may be important to be flexible in the type of accommodations and the dates.

Good luck! We love VGC and you'll be surprised at how close it is to the parks, very different from WDW.

Thanks- of course we can only really go in summer, so i know that is pushing it. I am gonna try though. We are very excited having never been to Disneyland or California. :) Thanks for the help- we're probably gonna need it. LOL

The first time I went to DL, I wasn't impressed. I just kept thinking "it's not WDW". But I went back a 2nd time, and enjoyed it, then a 3rd time and began to really appreciate that this was "Walt's Park". His vision and started to not compare it to WDW, but rather just a way to enhance my Disney addiction!

WDW has soooooooo much space. DL is all walking distance, especially if you stay at VGC!

I would love to buy some VGC points and stay there often.
