Is there any way for me to see a trend of what's normally available at 7 months during different times of the year? Our home resort is/will be (come on ROFR!) Aulani but we're also looking into an on property contract for our WDW vacations.

We vacation in October, November, and Jan-March and love studios but prefer 1 bedrooms. Really the availability will be the deciding factor, as we really want to buy more Aulani points but also want to go to WDW sometimes.

My understanding is you'd have very good availability. I do know that 1 Bedroom are the easiest to book at 7 months so that is a positive for you. Short of Boardwalk / Beach Club during food and wine I believe you'd generally get what you want. There are just a few things that are hard to get, but I believe some people have problems even getting those at 11 months because of very limited quantities. Early December is a very busy DVC time because of various reasons and can be hard to get certain things but that isn't in the vacation times you mentioned.

I suspect 1BRs are getting harder during Fall Frenzy. I have seen complaints to that effect.

Oct./Nov. will be tough for studios at all but OKW and SSR. BWV & BCV will be the toughest because that's when F&W take place and people love to book them for the convenience factor. Jan. will be another tough one for Marathon Weekend. The Feb. Holidays (Presidents' Weekend and MLK birthday weekend) plus Easter week will also be tough to get a studio at 7 months.

One-bedrooms are a little easier to get. They are they the last to book up. However, the common advice is to buy where you don't mind staying and then book elsewhere at 7 months if you can find openings. An add on contract at a WDW resort might be a good idea in your situation.

Thanks! We've went with SSR with the hopes to stay at the Boardwalk when available.
