Hi guys, just have some questions about Annual Passports - I did not see any forums specifically to cover APs, please move this thread if I'm in the wrong spot.

I'm looking into a trip next year. At this stage, it looks like it might be 10-12 nights at WDW and 8-10 nights at DLR. I can cover this pretty well by getting a 10-day WDW pass and a 10-day DLR pass (which is a special pass that we can get here in Australia). I'm also considering getting one annual pass so that we can get access to accomodation discounts, merchandise and dining discounts etc.

1. Do you need to have an active annual pass before you can book accomodations with discounts? Or is it simply enough to book, and present your annual pass before or at checkout?

2. Can I buy any of the annual passes online? It'd be good to sort it out before leaving the country and not have to rely on making large purchases overseas. I would have to get the Premier Passport, and it is unclear whether you can actually order this one online.

3. Could I do something like... order a WDW passport online, activate it in Florida, then convert it to a premier passport when we go back across to California? Would this cost me more than simply buying a premier passport to begin with?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

1a. No.
1b. Yes. You don't even have to show the AP "at" check-in.
If asked to show the AP, you can go pick up the AP after check-in, then
take it by the front desk within a day to verify ownership.

2. You cannot by a "live" AP away from WDW, but you can buy an AP voucher in advance.
If you have difficulty purchasing an AP voucher on-line, you can CALL Disney and purchase an AP voucher.

3a. Yes.
3b. Nope.
