Booking an airport hotel?

I have to book a hotel for one night before we fly out to FL near the airport...

It's two adults one child... When I search one person I get a rate of $89 when I search the three of is it's $126...

Can I just book the $89 rate? Or do I have to book the three of us to the room? (I mean we can share a king so it's not like I need extra beds...). Sorry I'm new to doing this myself! And through orbitz for the disney reservation I knew to do the adults add the child after... But I didn't know if the same steps applied here...

Which hotel? Which website?

Is a free breakfast or shuttle included? If yes, then you absolutely would need to pay the $126, they will notice the extra people.
I am a budget traveler, and personally, I would pay the $126. It's not worth the potential hassle.

It's the holiday inn through orbitz... I didn't think of the breakfast because we leave the hotel at 5:00am and we're not using the shuttle...

Try booking directly through the hotel and see what rate it offers for 2 adults and 1 child. It may be Orbitz that's only offering the higher rate.

IT IS! I was just coming here to post that I got the $89 rate direct from the hotel website, (entering 2 adults 1 child, as opposed to 3 in the room)... and I got it with free cancellation, which Orbitz did not have.

This is kind of off topic but... Check out the site Park Sleep and Fly. I'm assuming that you will be parking the car at the airport. That site will tell you which hotels offer free parking along with a one night stay, sometimes as long as ten days. Most times I get a rate that is just over the cost of parking at the airport for the vacation so the night in the hotel is almost free. I usually check that sight for the hotel list and rates but when I find the one I want I call the hotel directly and get a better rate.
