Booking ahead without hotel reservations?

Can youo book the 6 months out for dining reservations if you do not have a hotel booked? It seems that Disney runs a lot of deals in the fall. I will be going to Disney with my family next fall and would like to get the best deal possible. But I want to make sure we get dining reservations ahead of time! But this may be after the 6 month out time frame starts!

For next fall you'll be able to make your reservation at 180 days out. What you won't be able to do, without a hotel reservation, is make 10 days worth of reservations at that time. You'll have to call each morning (at the 180 day mark) to make your daily reservation(s).

Yes you can. As a matter of fact, you don't even need any Disney resort reservation to make a dining reservation. Otherwise, people staying off site would never be able to eat at Disney World. Same thing with locals.
