Booking adr's without a reference number...

Just curious... Whenever I've made adr's in the past I have never used a reference number on the wdw website, just typed in my email address and then received a confirmation email and number.

Does anyone else do it this way too, or do most people prefer to use their reference number. Any pros/cons to doing it either way?

The only difference is if you're staying on site you can book ADRs 10 days earlier (think it's 10 days) than the official 180 days.

Plus if you link it to you hotel you don't pay anything upfront for things like Hoop Dee Doo, without a Ref number you pay in full, with ref number you pay with DDP on the night. There were a few I made this time I had to give Ref number for.

Thanks, that helps. Need to wait till nearer the 6 months to get the ref number from virgin I think!

The only real plus with a reference number is being able to book 10 days out.

I'm staying in a villa this year and have booked 7 ADR's so far, more to go, and have only had to pay upfront for one, which was CRT.

Last time I was onsite and booked 10 days all in one go which was great, but this year is equally great, knowing I get to book an ADR every single day for two weeks is exciting :D

I did it the same way as you :) No problems at all. I enjoyed having a quick break from work each morning to go on and book :goodvibes

The only hitch I found is you can't bring up a list of your reservations from the 'my reservations' part of the WDW site. I've found I can only do it directly from the link in the confirmation emails they send, so it's a good idea to keep one!

You can! :D You just have to click 'find my reservation', enter your confirmation number and it comes up :D

It never stores for me automatically, I 'find it' just after I book and can now see my list of bookings in the reservation bit :D

you can also click the "update reservations" link on the right of the page

I didn't use a reference number when I booked and I'm wishing I had now! It wouldn't recognise any of the numbers I was inputting so in the end I gave up and just went for it. I did have to enter credit card numbers incase of not turning up etc which I'm not sure I would have had to with a reference number but oh well! Just hope it all works out!

Natalie, I've always done the same as you and probably will this time too if my ref number doesn't work. It's always been fine in the past, just remember to take that reservation no. with you to the restaurants.
