Booking ADRs Question

I'll be taking DS7 to the World for his eighth birthday in January. I've got ASSp booked for two nights before we go on a DCL cruise, and then POFQ for six nights after the cruise. Is it possible to book ADRs on my 180+10 for the first reservation and use them on the second? Of course I'm only really thinking about the tougher to get places (IF he wants them), but it would make the process easier to only have to log on or call reservations one time. Is this breaking any kind of rules or policies?
Thanks in advance.

Disney views them as 2 reservations so you will only be able to book for the days before the cruise at the first 180 days and then will have to do the rest from 180 days of the second resort. It will not make a difference if you go online or call.

Also, if for an ADR you are looking for is not available, I highly suggest you use the ADR watch tool at TP. It will alert you if the ADR you want opens up and chances are it will over the course of the 180 days.

Yes, this. No need to worry about breaking any rules- the system just won't allow you to do it.

So the system won't let me book any ADRs for after the checkout date of my first reservation? Is that how I'm understanding it?

Like I said, it's really up to the whim of a 7y/o boy, so I likely won't be looking for CRT, BoG, or 1900 Park Fare. He may want Ohana though.

Yes. When people say "180+10" they often leave out the "...up to your length of stay" part, which is very important.
