*sorry if this is the wrong section, I wasn't sure if this, the dining reservations section, the resorts section, or someplace else was the best*

We're going in January, arriving on Jan 2. Packages aren't available for January until August, right? What we're planning on doing is:
1 night @ a value, literally just to sleep (arriving around midnight)
1 night @ a deluxe to do the dining plan
6 nights on points @ a DVC resort

Will we just have to call each morning for every day of our trip? How does that work? And what about any pre-pay meals? Is it just CRT and the dinner shows that require prepayment? What about V&A? (PLEASE tell me I won't have to pay for that up front!)

Yep, you'll have to call 180 days before you'd like to dine if you don't have a trip booked.

As far as prepayments, you will be charged just at the time of the booking. This goes for CRT and the 3 dinner shows (Hoop de Doo, Spirit of Aloha, Mickey's Backyard BBQ).

I don't know anything about V&A, so can't help you there.

Rats! This does not bode well for my plans. We're planning on Victoria & Albert's, Cirque, the spa, a fireworks cruise, and 2 tours. I can't afford to pay up front for all that stuff. It's why I'm doing a night of the Platinum plan. I guess all I can do is hope that they either release 2012 packages a little earlier than August this year, or that the stuff doesn't get booked between my dates opening on July 6 and whenever they do release the packages. Darn Disney! I'm ready to book my package now.
