Booking a winter vacation

We are going to stay at OKW this winter for 12 days. I have around 350 points banked which I can use to book this October. Would it make any sense to book some of the vacation now using the points I don't have banked and then adding the rest when I can use those banked points? I am just worried that it will be considered 2 separate vacations or they will have to cancel what I have to add on the additional days with the banked points. Does this make any sense to anyone? I can wait till October to book everything but I was just wondering if it makes sense to book the busier days close to Easter now. Thanks for any help.

I don't understand - why can't you use the banked points now? Sounds like there is a misunderstanding somewhere. You should be able to use the banked points right now (at your home resort) if it is less than 11 months from your desired vacation dates.

Need more info. What is your use year? Which use year are the banked points originally from? What month & year are you planning to vacation?

No. My guess is you are confused about how some of the rules work. If you spell out your situation in more detail, we can help.

But as a general guideline, don't confuse rules about when you can make reservations, with rules about when you can use points. Your 7 and 11 month windows dictate when you can make reservations. It doesn't matter where the points are coming from - banked, borrowed, whatever. If you are going "this winter" you are within the 7 month window and should go ahead and make the reservation.

All points use is based on date of stay. You don't have to wait until your use year starts to make a reservation. I'm assuming you have an October use year. For a stay this winter (use year 10/1/07 to 09/30/08), you can use banked 2006, current 2007 and banked 2008 and reserve now (since winter dates are already within 7 months).
