We've booked for this summer with Virgin and very pleased with the price as we get the 10% discount. :thumbsup2

It is worth prcing up different dates on their website before you book. We found the date we wanted to go and found the price on-line. Then we looked at going one day earlier and the price was £300 less so that's the date we went for! It's a bit boring but worth checking lots of dates on line to see the best price.

if youve got the time i suggest that you maybe price up the bits of the holiday seperately. we were looking at a virgin flydrive with fully insured convertible, they wanted £1600 for 2 weeks for 2 of us, found flights with BA for £800, fully insured car with hertz for £415, saving us nearly £400!!

Agree about the car hire part. We never book the car with Virgin as part of a package as its so expensive. If you want to upgrade the car and have their insurance its alot more exoensive than doing it direct with Dollar. The car with Virgin would have been £255 more than doing it direct with dollar. We looked at flying with someone other than Virgin but couldn't be tempted away!:flower3:

If you mean Dollar.co.uk then it is cheaper still to use an agent like Airlinenetwork.co.uk or one of the many others.

Anyone booking a Virgin holiday make sure you book it through a cashback site, I use rpoints.com and maximise the cashback thru their highest cashback promise. I have booked for next Xmas with 10% frequent Virgin discount and 3% cashback thru rpoints
10% knocked off £233.20
3% rpoints another £82.78
With discounts I have got hotel and breakfast included for what we usually pay for flight only at Xmas. Will book car with airnet week before we go.

Other times of year they are so overpriced but VH are great value for next Xmas.:)

edit:- also remember cashback sites if you use Airnet, upto 3.9% back for carhire bookings.

I think sometimes you have to weigh up how much money you save by making your holiday up in bits to just doing a package. We decided if doing it seperately only saved £100 it was easier to just book a package from Virgin. We could have saved if we booked the flights and used miles plus money but then you have to pay upfront whereas the package meant just a deposit...much better option for us!:cool1:
