DH and I are talking about booking a trip on the Wish next year. We are DVC direct members/qualify for the DVC priority booking. I noticed on the website that I cannot book online. Here is the blurb

Disney Vacation Club Members and Adventure Insiders
Disney Vacation Club Members: Call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 starting at 8:00 AM Eastern Time to book with Reservation Points. To make a cash-only booking, call (866) 325-6348—or contact your travel agent.

Adventure Insiders: Call (888) 272-0644 starting at 8:00 AM Eastern Time—or contact your travel agent.

Is this accurate? Will I need to get on the phone at 8am to try and get a trip booked? Or would it make sense to work with a travel agent to do this? Full disclosure we have NEVER booked a cruise before with Disney so this is all new to us.

Appreciate all the tips and tricks from cruise veterans!!!

Yes, you will have to call member services. It must be you calling, your travel agent can't call dvc member services.

Ah so I can't even use Dreams then for the booking got it. I guess I might need to block my calendar then for that morning to call in.

Same! We would be doing a cash booking. Cruises aren't a good use of our points/we have too many DVC trips planned for 2022 to use points! :)

Another poster on a different thread said that points had to be used for at least one person on the booking, so that would be worth finding out in advance.

per the disney website it does not say that - just gives two different numbers - one for cash and one for points

Do this points required have to be the ones in a direct contract (blue card) only?

There is no TA payment when you are booking DVC points options.

Oh sorry I was talking about something different. I was going to book cash not with points.

I can still book with cash on that date and through a TA then if I am DVC? Otherwise I am Silver and would have to book the following day.

Yeah.

So now instead of a two hour wait - a four hour wait when booking opens up :tilt:

You would only need to call Member Services if you plan to use points for your cruise. Otherwise, you can book with a travel agent such as Dreams Unlimited Travel on the day that booking opens for Disney Vacation Club Members.
