DH and I are going to stay at OKW in January in a studio. My BIL and his family might be going with us, and we are going to pay for the room with our points. Our room is already booked, so I would need to book their room.
Will this be a problem, since nobody listed in that second room will be DVC members?

I'm sure the answer to this is an easy one, but we have never taken anyone with our membership before! This is part of the reason we bought in, so I'm really excited to be able to share the WDW magic with our family!! It will be their first trip!!! :hyper:

This is no problem. There does not need to be a DVC member in the room.

All you will need is the name and address for all the people in the room. They do not have to be with you to check-in, all they will need is the reservation number. If they want prepaid-dining or ME, you will have to book that for them.

It will be no problem to book a room for your friends IF there is a room available. Depending on when your January trip is planned, there might be limited availability so book soon. Have fun! Using points to treat friends and family is one of the things we most enjoy about our DVC.

I totally agree with you! Our daughter got married at Disney a year ago and we had enough points to book rooms for the grooms entire family at the same resort as our entire side of the family. Felt really great to be able to do this.

I used points to book my brother a stay at Aulani for his honeymoon. I can't wait until I get a chance to go there.
