Booking a package question

Does anyone know if I book a MYW package, if I would be able to use the AP discount should one become available, (and if it would save money.)

I am wanting to book the room, tickets, and dining all together, and on the wdw website, I can do that, but I'm just not sure that if I do that, I'll be able to use the AP discount as well. Does this make any sense???

It's my understanding that AP discounts are good on room reservations only, and cannot be used with a package.

(But maybe someone out there has had a different experience.)

Nope, its one or the other. You can't get an AP discount on the package.
