Hi everyone

Just curious to know what your opinions are on booking packages or flights, hotels etc seperately

It's a long way off but I am thinking of booking two different WDW resorts to top and tail our cruise next year :boat:

Virgin Holiday package quotes always seem to be lower than the official Disney website and I would also get 10% discount on top so as far as packages go this seems to be the best value for me :teacher:

However, I was thinking of booking air fare only and then getting a US TA to get me the best possible price on the hotel rooms as they can then update my booking with any future codes and discounts that get announced

What do you all tend to do and how does it work out for you

Thanks all :thumbsup2

I am going solo staying at the Beach Club with the deluxe dining plan and premium economy flights there and back. The same holiday with virgin would cost £1300 more so I booked seperately again.

You have to look at all options for your needs. Certain times of year you can get free dining on UK sites but not US sites or you have to meet different criteria.

I prefer to book everything myself seperate so I am in charge but odd time I book a Virgin package if the price is right.
This August Virgin package, 21 nights OKW with free DDP, economy flights & 3 x 21 day tix, would cost £6,700 for 2 adults & 1 teen.
Booking myself I have Business class seats with Delta & 21 nights OKW, DDP & tix with Disney.co.uk cost £6,000
£700 saving and lay flat seats there and back.

Last year with price errors I paid about £6,000 incl 7 night Disney cruise, Biz class flights, OKW, DDP & 21 day tix & car rental. T/A approx £12,000

As Wayne has noted, best to compare both package and DIY. Last Easter, we got a flight/hotel package with VH that cost much less than the flights alone.

This year, we are going DIY, and the cost of our flights, accommodation (RPR 4 nights/OKW 12 nights with free DDP), car hire and Disney/Universal tickets is cheaper than a 16 night VH Flight/accommodation package at a moderate hotel.

Thanks Guys :thumbsup2
Do you know how far in advance you can book rooms direct with Disney?
I know that most flights are 11 months out
We don't want the dining plan so that should keep things simple

We have done both packages and DIY. For price and ability to book last minute - would definately recommend DIY, however, this year as there's 2 family groups of us going was easier to book a package deal, which we did with Virgin (wouldn't use anyone else). When its just my own family group would definately only do it DIY seperately.
