I booked a cruise using points & when I called to upgrade cabin catagory with cash, I was told it can't be done. Does anyone know if this is correct? If it is correct, will I be able to upgrade, if available, at the port? Thanks Toon

When you book DCL using points, you must use points OR cash to pay for each person. You cannot use BOTH to pay for one person. So MS was correct in their information.

As to paying for an upgrade at port, I would not count on it. Most ships sail full. Disney will use FL rates or CM rates to fill the ship several months before if they sail in order to fill the boat. I usually sail in early February and our sailings have always been full. No ability to upgrade.

Your options at this point:

1. Leave it ressie as it is.

2. Cancel the ressie, lose the $95 booking fee and then rebook at the higher cabin category paying the $95 and higher points

3. If you don't have enough points for the higher cabin category for option 2, only book one person in the higher category, use cash for the second and have the remaining points in the holding account.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
