As a first time DCL cruiser, I know that my chances of getting a Cabana are slim. I still want to see if I can book online when my booking window opens up. Where are the Cabanas listed on the website?

If I don't get one I can get on the waiting list once on board, correct?

It will be listed under the port excursions on your CC day. If they are all taken they will be at the bottom and greyed out.

Once your booking window opens you can see where you can book activities for each day just click on Add Activities For This Day on the Castaway Cay day, and then Port Adventures, you'll see all the stuff you can book on Castaway Cay, although you're right chances of booking a Cabana for first time cruisers is slim to none, they're usually snapped up by Platinum and Gold Castaway Club members first.

Add Concierge guests before those. Their requests are processed by the Concierge team immediately when the booking window opens.

And don't give up. There were none when I tried to book as gold level, but I kept looking and one showed up just a month before our cruise !

To note: Anyone can cancel their cabana anytime up to 3 days before your cruise. Someone on my cruise gave one up a week before on my cruise on our meeting group.
Keep checking.

If not seeing one available for your cruise, checking the DCL site for frequently may pay off. I have a previous cruise checked almost daily for weeks eventually giving up on the chance for but our last cruise last month I took a less frantic approach and would just check randomly when online checking out the cruise groups we were involved with.

Suddenly just over 2 weeks prior to sailing one appeared (and anyone getting the surprise of finding and snatching up one cancelled by another will know this feeling) - thinking a mistake and not really available I quickly grab and book, securing for our Castaway day. A family in our cruise group picked up one from a wait-list on-board the day prior to Castaway, so one never knows if or when one will come up.

Just an FYI for those that do get a cabana, your booking will appear as a booked activity in your list of all activities booked but it will as well appear grayed out in the alphabetical listing of Port Adventures available and not at the bottom like all other activities not available. This is a little unnerving as the first time we had a cabana booked, I questioned did we have or why was ours listed grayed out in the alphabetical listing of activities available to be booked.

I don't know what cruise you're on, or if you're looking for a Family Beach one, but there is one Serenity Bay cabana available for the 2/22 Magic as of this typing.
