Booking 3 studios at AKL

We are still in the planning process but we are trying to organize a family trip to WDW next May (2012). We would like to get 3 studios (value or standard preferably) at AKL. Since AKL is not our home resort, we won't be able to book any sooner than 7 months out.
What are our chances of getting 3 studio rooms in May, if we book at 7 months?
Experiences anyone? TIA

Well, three value villas is going to be tough. If you are going in early May, you might be able to get one, but three? I don't know if that is really possible. There are so few of them.

Standard in early May might be possible. Again, three of them is going to be harder than just one.

We own at ALV and I tried to get a value studio in Dec for this May...didn't have one so we got a standard at Kidani. Definitely book the 3 studios at your home resort, then try to WL for something, maybe ? I am pretty sure you will not be able to get 3 value studios at the 7 month mark. There are only like 10 of them total all at Jambo I believe.

I do not think you would have trouble with standards--only the values.

May is one of the easier times to book at 7 months. If you were looking for savanna view (there are many more of these than the other two categories), I would say no problem, even though you wanted 3.

Value will be nearly impossible if you need all three to be in the same category, and standard category could be a challenge as well (especially if you need then to be in Jambo to be near the value category).

If you are willing to waitlist, and can accept the possibility of the three not all being in the the same category or building, then I predict success. Good luck!

P.S. Of course you will be calling when MS opens on the exact day the 7 month window opens.

What about getting a 2-bedroom and a studio? That would be more points though. If you get 3 studios at the home resort, those studios might take more points than studio's at AKL if they are available at 7-months.

I have tried to get value before 7 months at AKL with no luck.

We got a value 1-bdrm at AKV at the 7 month mark a couple of years ago for May. (Then some of the family decided to come with us, so I had to cancel that and ended up with 2 studios at BWV.) This year, I called at a little over 3 months out and got 2 standard and 2 savannah views at Kidani for June. I could have gotten 4 standard rooms I think, but I was wanting the savannah view. So, if you call at opening time at the 7 month mark, I think your chances for a standard view are very good and you might even get a value room if you're lucky.
