Hi! I was trying to book a Hoop Dee Doo reservation today - party of 5. Long story short, nothing available for 5 on the date/time we wanted. I had been looking online and saw availability for 2 tables, one for 2 and one for 3. Called to make the ressie on the phone, and the CM said they were booked for 5. I asked if she could please reserve 2 tables and she said no - that is considered double booking. Same restaurant, total number of people still the same. She wouldn't do it for me. I said I've done this in the past and it's been fine. She said to do it online myself and "take the chance".

Anyone else have experience with this? I don't want one to get canceled - this is not "true" double booking!!

I would put one in your name with your phone number and one in someone else's name from your party and their phone number. I've done this before when taking our adult children and we are not eating together.

The only caveat I have is the fact that by booking 2 separate reservations you will very likely not be seated together. For Hoop De Doo tables are pre-assigned so you cannot arrive at the podium and ask to be seated together.

Here's how double-booking was explained to me (we, too, had a large group to book);

It's considered double-booking if you have two or more adr's under one name, in the same meal period, at same or different restaurants...regardless of the situation.

To be on the safe side, book under the same phone number using separate names. If you're worried about your tables being separated, just show up early and let the restaurant know your party is together. For dinner shows, I would put in a request a few days beforehand to the resort where the show is being held.
