Booking 2 reservations worth the hassle?

Keep what we have or make the change?

  • Keep what we have 30% off for the full stay at POFQ

  • Split it into 2 differnt reservations to use a 40% Pin and a 30% PIN at POFQ

OK so Just asking for your thoughts on if booking 2 reservations for 1 trip is worth the hassle for a little savings? ( I think it would be $74.84 savings)

So we are already booked 11/30/2010 - 12/11/2010 at POFQ using the 30% off PIN code!!

Today my wife received the Monsters PIN 40% off all resorts!!!! but it only covers 11/30-12/4 of our trip. So she was thinking maybe we could book to reservations so we could use both pins.

I am happy we are getting PINs, but I don't really think the $74/75 savings to do this is worth it to have to make 2 reservations, this is why: 1st we have (she will be at the time of the trip) a 2 1/2 yr old most likely need a room for nap time in the afternoon. 2nd since we would be doing two differn't reservations we most likley would have to pack up everything in our room and move on the 5th day of our trip and we wouldn't even be changing resorts and we could be without a room for a few hours when they are getting the new room ready.

So my vote is to keep our current reservation and forget the monster PIN we just got. Please vote and let us know what you think.

I've done a split reservation twice and I didn't have to change rooms either time. I told them at check in that I had 2 reservations. On the morning that the second reservation began I went to the front desk and checked out and switched keys.

I'm doing a premium pkg for one night of my stay and the CM put on my reservation "continuing reservation". He said this will let the room assigners know that I will be staying in that room and I will be all set.

Also I guess i didn't think about it but if we are on the dinning plan that would be effected too right? We would have to use all of our dinning and snack credits from the first res by midnight on the last day of the 1st res right? We couldn't carry them over to the 2nd res?

Thanks for the info!:goodvibes

As much as I like to save money, I don't know if $75 would be worth the hassle. I hate calling Disney because of the stupid menu at the beginning of the call. Plus, it's hit-or-miss if you'll get a CM who actually knows what they are talking about. So, I probably wouldn't change my reservation.

thanks. Not sure, really don't want to have to change around our ADR's to make it work we are saving our sit down meals the 1st 2 nights so we can do a Sig dinning and 2 sit downs in one day for lunch and dinner later in our trip.

Don't forget to follow up on that yourself. Let them know at check in of the first reservation. Then tell them again as you start the check our/check in process to the second reservation.

"continuing reservation" added to the reservation is kind of like requesting a room location or connecting rooms. It is just a note on the reservation. It is not guaranteed, and could end up overlooked.

Correct. You would have to use all your points from the first reservation by midnight of the day you check out from the first reservation.

Personally for $75 I would not bother. It could end up being a lot more trouble then it is worth.

that is what we are thinking!! Also if FD get pushed out to our dates it would really be a waste of time because we would then gop back to one res as FD would save us even more than using one or both of the PINS

I would stick with the 1 ressie as $75 wouldn't be worth the hassle to me. You probably wouldn't have to switch rooms, but that's no guarantee. Also, if you wanted the DDP for both ressies, you would have to purchase at least a 1 day base ticket for everyone in the room for the second part.....so there goes the little bit you saved.
