booked

We are staying at the new virgin hotel in a 1 bedroom suite with breakfast included,it used to be Hawthorn Suites. Was going to stay on site, but the rooms for 5 limited my choices. I was hoping for a good deal on OKW but it did'nt happen.I am taking my dd2 18 my ds1 14 and the twins. We have the 14day disney pass and the 2 park universal. I think where am staying probly a better choice than staying on site because the older two will want to do more universal stuff.Am also going to book the pirate adventure for the boys birthday(you get cake and a hat) anyone been ?.It looks good.
We are flying from manchester with virgin staying in the hilton the night before.(they do rooms for 5).I have decided not to drive out ther but ther are free shuttle bus to all the parks from the hotel. Any tips please.:worship:

Now I have decided to go in Feb too I am looking at OKW - :)

I would be interested in what character meals people recommend too .. my small person loves meeting her friends over dinner .. we need to get at least one princess meal in, some with mickey, goofy etc and something a bit different that we don't get at DLP .. happy to do breakfast, lunch and dinner :)

I am going to book in 2 weeks .. hurry up pay day !!!

The character meals we have enjoyed are:-

Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom with Winnie the Pooh and friend - I love going for a really early breakfast and walking up Main Street when it is empty. We have also enjoyed dinner there - though some think the food hit and miss I really haven't had a bad meal although it can be busy.

We have also done CRT in the castle but this was a while back = it's just the experience of being in the castle! (oh and seeing the princesses)

Chef Mickey at the Contemporary resort - again another buffet style meal and can be quite busy and noisy - but you go for the characters :)

In Epcot you can see Mickey and Minnie at the Garden Grill with Chip & Dale - I quite enjoyed this too!

We have also been to Tusker House, Cape May and the GF for character meals over the years. Have a look at the menus and see which suits you best - or who you want to see. Also do you want to eat inside a park or at one of the hotels?

You can book at 180 days out over the telephone - I did book online last time but I was staying onsite then and haven't checked for this year if I can use it yet.

Hope you enjoy :thumbsup2

Character Meals that we have done:

Crystal Palace at MK: we had breakfast...if you book early you can get into the MK before it's open and have a photo in front of the castle with nobody else in it!!!......Breakfast is lovely and you meet the winnie the pooh characters and the kids parade around with them

1900 Park Fayre at The grand floridian: Dinner with cinderella and the step sisters.....food wasn't good the last year! but love the characters

Tusker House at AK: only breakfast with characters.....Donald, Mickey, Minnie, goofy and daisy....great food and character interaction.

Ohana's at the polanisian: Only breakfast with characters....Lilo, stitch, mickey and minnie.....great breakfast and character interaction

Garden Grill: dinner with chip, dale, mickey and goofy......great character interaction but food was not to our taste

Akershus at Epcot: we had dinner with the princesses.....great food and you have a photo in with the meal price

We did all of the above last year except Garden Grill (2009)......out of them all our favs are....Crystal Palace and Ohana's

hope this helps

You are just booking too far in advance :rotfl2: I don't start looking until 11 months out (I did check a package on VH's for next summer, £12,000:eek:, I don't think so)
17 months is too long, book a cheapy and go now.:thumbsup2

You're probably right, but can't hold off booking now, just get too excited!

Wish I could book a cheapy and go now, but doing NY in may for wife and mums birthdays, so can't realistically go until next year now.

It'll be torture, but just think how excited I'm gonna be when its only a few weeks away... party:
