Can anyone tell me how early prior to actual departure do Virgin send out your travel documents?
My holidays booked for mid August and i'd like to get the ESTA application sorted and book the Magical Express, can't really do either without the info!

Can't you do your ESTA just now? You know where you are staying and can Google the address if you need to and Virgin would give you flight details / they would be online / in the brochure?

No clue about the Magical Express tho but Im sure if you had your flight number, dates & hotel you could sort it.

Actual tickets won't be here until about 10-14 days before you fly which is leaving it all to late in my opinion (my ESTA's already done for June departure on BA!)

For our Xmas trip they arrived really early, about 3 weeks before we went. Usually about 2 weeks but sometimes they have arrived less than a week before we go.
There is no reason for them to send out early anymore, ours were all e-tickets. If they didn't arrive before you leave they could sort everything at the airport or in resort.
You should get all info you need online if you log into your booking or ring them for anything else you need.

Thanks.
Yeah i've googled the address already and get get all the info from the net.Just was hoping for something in writing so no little mistakes were made.
What's the deal with those e-tickets, how do you sign up,what's required?

Thanks.

You don't have to do anything. All that comes from Virgin now is an Itinery, E-ticket reciept and any Vouchers(Hotel, car rental, tickets) They don't send any hard tickets, gone are the Flight tickets etc. So if you don't recieve your envelope before you leave they can re-issue and the airport or in resort, there is no worry anymore of not recieving tickets.
Just make sure all details are correct on their website(print off then any errors you know are their fault)

forgive me if i'm being a bit thick but i was assuming i'd receive paper tickets.
I booked online with Virgin Holidays and paid the deposit, bout a week later i got a letter confirming what i'd booked and paid and when the rest was due.
So now when it gets closer to the date i wont receice paper tickets but the e-ticket receipt etc? Thanks.

Thats correct. I don't know when they stopped issueing paper flight tickets, I have not had any for over 2 years now but I mainly use Virgin Atlantic not Virgin Hols. This Xmas was VH and no tickets, all e-tickets & Vouchers.

Would be a lot more sense sending them Via e-mail but for some reason they send them via post, Virgin just love wasting paper, No idea how many copies of the invoice we got in the end. There is no reason for any paperwork. When I book DIY I never get anything thru post from Flights, hotels, park tickets or Car hire. everything is e-ticket and just quote reference Numbers.
Get upto date Virgin.
Sorry if you prefer paper, I am not a massive save the planet campaigner but Virgin just seem to waste so much IMO.

We travel on the 27th and just got our stuff through in the post.

And we have paper tickets for the flights!

We've vouchers for the car hire, park tickets and the like, but then we have old school paper tickets on that good ole carbon paper type stuff for the flights!

:rotfl: they must still send some out then, wonder why?

we too got normal paper tickets when we went in september, I was surpised as been reading about people getting e tickets on here.:confused3

We know someone who goes the two weeks before us. They are coming back on the plane we will be leaving on, and they got E-Tickets!

Maybe they just think I can't handle these new codes!!!
