I just changed my DCL reservation from Disney to go through Costco. I did get a savings. Looking at the post looks like I won't be able to make reservations through the Disney website. I spurged for a graduation gift for myself on a cat 3. It includes conceirge. So do you think reservations will or will not be a problem. Anyone else every gone the same route? Costo - cat 3?

Our trip is on the Wonder 12/10/2006. This will be our first cruise. ;)

Thanks,

Nicole

HI. Can you pm or post the amount Costco quoated you? I called today and it was about $1700 more than the category 5 room rate that we have for 2 adults and 2 kids. I was just wonedering how much cheaper it is through Costco. We are sailing in Sept. for 4 days.

Thanks, Heather

I called Costco, after a half hour or so on hold they told me that they couldn't discount the Disney cruises very much.

I found MUCH better rates from Dreams Unlimited, Small World vacations, and Cruising Co. I ended up going with cruisingco.com.

Don't book through Disney, the prices are way too high.

We originally booked for the 2 week Panama Canal cruise last year. We turned over the reservation to Costco and saved almost 10%. pirate:

Which cruise are you on? There are 2 very active threads on the Cruise meets boards fro the 2 canal cruises. Hop on over and join in the fun.

great deal- we too used them for our wonder cruise and got the best deal until fla rates came out and we switched to allseasons. they seemed very efficient to me.

Here is the Costco quote we received for this spring (not DCL, because the Majic is on the East Coast):
(both selected Stateroom and GTY) 2, 3, 4 is number of passengers.

I saved $700 using Costco, over DCL, AllSeas, DU, Small World, and another one I think MouseEars(?). This is for a cat 6 verandah Christmas 2005 Cruise, 3 adults, one child. We're paying $7,121.40. There was a $250 deposit for each person, so my balance is $6,121.40. I was VERY happy to save that $700!

Got quotes from cruising.com, small world, dcl and costco

Costco is the best as far as price.

I am glad cruisingcom is working for you. I got an email from them and they seemed very helpful. I ended up booking a cat 3 for 5 people. Costco beat them by $400.00. Which is significant for me since the cat 3 is so much higher than the cat 4.

I saved $200 by having Costco call up DCL and change the reservation into a Costco one. I stayed on the phone while they changed it, and even got to stay in the same cabin. The only downside is that you have to make one lump sum payment to pay for the cruise and it has to be on a credit card or a debit card. I was planning on making payments along the way through Disney since it is so easy, but it is worth it to save $200. I have a Category 5 stateroom for Myself, DH, DD3, DS3 and the total through Disney was $2502, now through Costco it is $2308.

I had already contacted Dreams Unlimited in the past. They could not beat Costco. I contacted cruisingcom and small world. So we shall see.

Have you tried Dana at www.MICDAN.com ? She, and her husband, Michael, are AMAZING!!! They offered me a great rate on my 9/24/05 Western! They also got me one of the 4 "Surprise cabins"--a cat 5 with a partially blocked view that is priced as a cat 7 :cool1: :flower: :flower: :sunny: :sunny:

I transferred our August Panama Canal and Oct. 2006 cruises to Costco and saved 10% on each of them. I also got to keep the 10% discount for booking onboard and the $200 ship credit so I saved even more.

I also transferred our Eastbound repo cruise from DCL to Costco and saved over $500 for 3 adults in a Cat 9. Total price from Costco for the repo cruise was $5,036. DCL was over $5,500.

When I just did my final payment w/Costco for our Mexico cruise the TA told me to book our excursions direct through Disney and recommended the website so I am unsure that you cannot book your shore excursions thru Disney if you buy thru Costco.

We saved about $800 per room (two rooms) by going w/Costco...definitely worth the time wait on the phone! ::MinnieMo

We booked 18 people for Thanksgiving 2006 4-day

I emailed "every" travel that every recommeded on these boards including DCL.

THE WINNER WAS COSTCO'S. THEY WERE $1338.00 CHEAPER.

Hope this helps

I booked my July 2005 Disney Magic cruise through DCL and changed it over to Costco with a savings of about $200 for a catagory 12. I did have to make my final payment at the beginning of May in one lump sum. After making my final payment, I was able to go on the disney web site to make all of my reservations. It is my understanding that no matter who you book through, as soon as the cruise is paid in full and reported to disney, you can now make reservations (spa, Palo's, children's, shore excursions) on the disney website. Hopefully this helps.
