Just booked our vacation for October at AAA last night. Going Oct. 18th-26th and staying at POR in a river view room. With the special AAA prices the whole package ended up being around $400 less than what it would cost booking directly through Disney. Thats without any Disney discounts applied, keeping my fingers crossed room discounts come out for October so I can get even more $$$ off. Now, somehow, I just have to wait until October. :scared1:

Congrates on booking your trip.

We are going October 19-25 but staying at BC.

Just curious do you know what the AAA % discount on the room rate was?

You do know that you will have to choose between the disney discount and the AAA one right? You can't stack discounts so you will have to have the TA crunch the numbers and see which one comes out to be the better deal.

The thing is, if Disney comes out with a discount, it will be highly likely that it will be better than the AAA discount. I think the discount we got for Oct was about 10-15%-ish off room thru AAA. Tickets were competitively priced from AAA to Undercover Tourist prices. We saved about $200 over what was on the Disney site. If free dining was offered, however, early we'd be back at rack adding on the $200; however that is less than DP. Truthfully, I'd be tickled pink for a room discount or FD, even though the dining plan isn't exactly our manner of eating, I'll take it.

I have used the AAA Disney room discount, but I booked directly with Disney. I had gone to the AAA website, so I knew what the AAA room price was. Disney gave me the correct discount, and said I had to show my AAA card when I checked in. I don't like to deal with AAA because it's hard to get a call back when you need it, and so many AAA agents don't know Disney from a hole in the ground. When I call Disney reservations, i always get a live agent who (usually) knows all the ins and outs.

I get my tickets through Undercover Tourist with Mousesavers link.

You can't stack discounts. It's either AAA discount or Disney discount. If a great Disney discount came out, I would think it would be faster and easier, if you had your original reservation with Disney, to make your new discount claim directly with them. Just my opinion. :)

The AAA discount was 10% off room charges. I know that I cant stack discounts on each other but I know that if Disney came out with a % off discount it would be a better deal in general than the 10% AAA one. Surprisingly the AAA I go to has a dedicated section for Disney vacations and the TA there are very knowledgeable of everything so I got lucky. :cool1:

I've booked through AAA Mid-Atlantic in past and pricing was same regardless of discount or promotion offerings was the same. Actually just book through Disney direct end of Aug for FD and also got a quote from AAA for same package. Pricing was identical. What gives? Am I missing something? Can I call Disney have give them my AAA Card#. Would it apply to anything?

Please let me know.

I booked with central reservations at WDW on Monday for POFQ for February 2012. Central Reservations is not yet giving AAA discount for February nor are rack room rates known specifically for February. So I was given a rate with a price increase over 2011, but feel confident that before year-end we will know the AAA discount amount or WDW discount percentage. The one-night deposit amount was extremely high ... Didn't stop us though !!!!

Are the Disney tickets cheaper with AAA or with the mousesaver discount? Can anyone forward me the May Mousesavers newsletter?

AAA packages are also the Disney packages. No difference. AAA will not get you a better price on a package. Disney will give you the AAA room only discount, if you call them direct. You tell Disney you are an AAA member, and show your card at check-in, but I am not sure if they ask for it during the reservation.

I'm new to DIS Boards, so I hope I'm not misunderstanding everyones posts. But I booked our vaca. for late Aug, POP for 8 days, 2 adult and 2 kids (11&4)and it was $2150. We got the AAA disc. on the room and the free dining plan. So you can get any new promotions that do come out and the AAA discount combined. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Wonderful!!! You'll be joining our family! :) We're at POR from October 20th to the 29th.

I'm sure discounts will be released during the summer (think July). We are booked in one of the preferred rooms and will be in Alligator Bayou because there are five of us.

I can't wait either....pretty soon, the packing will start! ;)

I think you are either misunderstanding, or were misled. You cannot get both the AAA room discount and Free Dining. It is one or the other.

I'm an AAA member too. I'm certain you cannot combine the AAA discount with any other room code or discount.

You likely got the best deal you're going to get unless you don't want free dining for whatever reason and want a larger room discount. We are staying 7 da, preferred, POR, w/park hoppers and we are at $2018...but no free dining! You got the package through AAA and got Free dining. I will almost guess you didn't get a room discount, too because I priced rack rate and tix and got your amount +/- a coupe of dollars. They usually give you the better of the 2 discounts. To me, you've got a good deal!

There are no combined discounts. Believe me, if people could do that, everyone, including myself, would be calling AAA for the "Double Disney Discount Deal."

These are Disney prices:
End of August Room Rack Rates at Pop (standard room): $85/night, $95 for Fri. and Sat. + 12.5% tax
Tickets: 3 Adults for 7 day Base MYW -- $263.06 x 3 = $789.18, 1 child $238.56 (tax included)
(Add $5.33 for each additional day on each ticket, up to max. 10 days)
Ticket Add-ons: Park Hopper $57.51 x 4 = $230.04 (tax included)
Water Park Fun & More $57.51 x 4 = $230.04 (tax included)

I think my post is being taken the wrong way. I was simply agreeing w/the first woman that I thought she (and I) got a good deal at AAA. When I checked online w/Disney, and then checked w/my AAA travel agent, I personally felt that I got a little better of a deal w/AAA. Nothing major, but I thought it was a good price. This is the second time I have booked my Disney Vac. w/them, and I've had excellent service both times. I was never trying to say it was the best deal out there. I apologize if that's how it came across. Next time I'll keep quit.

I think we are not understanding each other. No one is mad at you for supporting AAA. We just want you to really look at your reservation, as it is impossible to have an AAA discount on your room, and Free Dining at the same time. You can book thru AAA for Free Dining, but you will not have the 10-20% discount you get on the room, which is the standard AAA discount on room only reservations.

We booked through AAA yesterday as well - 3 nights/4 days at Boardwalk Inn, water view, for 2 people - and saved around $500! The AAA discount was 20%. I really wasn't expecting THAT much savings and was blown away.

I'm going to move this to our happy dance board. Have fun planning your trip!
