Just had to bump this up because I am sooooo excited!! Made a call to DCL today to ask a question and did my usual routine of asking if any Cat. 1s were available for a couple of 09 dates we were interested in and today the the CM said yes!! We are now booked in the Roy Suite (8530) on the Sept 12, 2009 Tortola cruise. Merry Christmas to me!! I'm going to keep it a secret and surprise DH and the girls onboard. They will think we are going to our usual midship Cat. 3 8532.

So if anyone is interested, there is a Cat. 2 now available on the Sept. 26, 2009 cruise.

Congratulations!!! I always keep checking if I really want something "special" in case it should happen to open! Enjoy the room, as well as the cruise which I am sure you all will! Keep the room tidy for us as we sail on October 31, 2009!!! Please post as to what your "surprises" were, should you encouter any. Once again, congrats and enjoy!

We stayed in the Roy this past November 10th to the 17th!

It was AWESOME!!!!

We had a great wine reception for DISers, (Hello Yndy!!!) and my favorite room in the suite is the "butlers pantry"!.

Mine too! That's where I stored all of our luggage -- there were 5 of us on the 10 nt Southern! That;s a lot of suitcases!

We also hosted a wine reception for the Disers onboard! It was lots of fun!

How do you setup/plan the wine reception? Do you do it once onboard or pre-plan it?

I too would like to know how to set up the wine reception. Do you need to preplan it or can you do it once you get onboard? Also, I set up my cruise date on the board but yet to have been contacted by anyone. I know 2009 is far away but NEVER to plan for a Disney cruise! I would love to have dispeople up to our suite but have no replies ever been heard of???

You would make arrangements for a wine party after you get onboard. You aren't contacted by concierge before then. You can do it at the concierge meeting first thing when you get on the ship. It's held in Sessions/Cadillac Lounge.
