It feels real now! It's still so far out (April 2017) but when flights dropped below $500/person (round trip, no layovers) I had to pull the trigger.

Now that we have our flights booked it looks like our plan will be as follows:
4/21 Arrive in Paris (our 10 yr anniversary), vow renewal somewhere near the Eiffel Tower (still planning)
4/22 Tour Paris
4/23 depart early morning via train to Barcelona. Embark on NCL cruise ship in Barcelona.
4/23-29 Med cruise stopping in Spain, Italy, & ending in France
4/29 disembark cruise, train to DLP
4/29-5/1 DLP
5/1 depart for NYC

My H had some sticker shock with the price of DLP, so I'm hoping we can get a good deal between now and when we go.

Looking forward to learning more from this board!

What airline are you using? I'm looking for tickets for next July and I am shocked by how expensive they are.

We're flying American Air. Not my first choice, but the for price I'll take it. We're also flying out of JFK instead of Philly. Saved us a layover and a few hundred $$$.

We were planning on flying XL and just dealing with the "no frills" approach, but American beat the prices I've seen on XL -- and XL doesn't book this far out.

I know April vs summer makes a big difference, but that is still a great price! Congratulations on finding the flight and on 9+ years.

Just remember that prices quoted on Disneyland Paris website are for packages, ie hotel AND park tickets.
The Disneyland Paris package price is for

  1. park hopper tickets for arrival day AND departure day
  2. Breakfast
  3. hotel room
Also make sure check the European Disneyland Paris websites, not the USA one. Prices are notoriously higher on the USA site.

You can book on ANY country website, not just your home country website. Disneyland Paris does not mail out documents, everything is done by email.

Teach me your ways.

In all seriousness, though, your later comment about flying out of JFK is probably the answer to why I'm looking at prices double what you paid -- I'm up in Montana, so I'm expecting to probably have two layovers just to get out of the country. Were you watching ticket prices through aggregators, or going direct to airlines' websites?

I had an Airfare Watchdog "lookout" set up and every time I got an email from them altering me to low fares to Paris (that weren't usually for my dates!) I would hop on Kayak and throw my dates in. And I was keeping an eye on XL airlines to see when their schedule extended. $500 was our "must buy now" number, so once it dipped below I grabbed it. Right now the flights are up to $597, so I'm glad we jumped on it when we did.

Thank you so much! I had no idea about Airfare Watchdog. At the moment it's not showing me any deals that'd have me better off than what I scouted on Kayak (around $1100), but Watchdog claims that there was a recent deal for around $800, so I'm hopeful that it'll come up with something for me now that I'm signed up. I looked at XL, but with their limited number of US origin cities for flights I'd have to separately book my flight(s) from up here to one of their hubs and I think it's very unlikely it'll work in my favor.

This has me thinking I need to bump up my deadline for making a final decision about whether this is a spring trip or a fall trip so I can set the dates and get ready to buy....
