We're also going via Newark in July, again good offer, have you been via Newark before, have you any info on what the airport is like as we have a 9 hour stopover during the night, thinking of staying at airport hotel.
Hi
Yes we've done it quite a few times, but never with a long layover like that, the only time we have stayed in airport for a while was when we missed our connection due to a security breach, this meant we had to stay in the airport overnight until the next available flight in the morning of the following day, we didn;t bother to get a hotel and just stayed in the departure lounge, although this website tells you all about what hotels there are nearby

It's a huge airport, you pick up your baggage and re check it, you will also go through immigration at EWR, we have always found the line to be a lot shorter than in MCO when we have gone into there direct, also we find the immigration staff to be much friendlier in EWR. Once you have gone through you head to Terminal C, you will take a mono rail here, there are shops, restaurants and other amenities - we like to grab a bite to eat and "exercise" the children!

you can also see the Empire State building over the river which is always worth a look.
When you get to Orlando you can just pick up your baggage and move through the airport like a domestic passenger as you have already done immigration etc, this usually means that you can get in line for the car hire desk before others coming in directly, you'll find that a lot of people on the connection will either be being collected or parked at the airport and won't be waiting in line, if there are direct flights coming in you may find a difference but hopefully all those people will be in the hour + line for immigration!

How come you ended up with such a long layover?
I hope this helps
