We booked an onboard placeholder for the discount and then later booked a cruise we liked. Now it looks like our booked cruise is now cheaper (dropped in price). Is it possible to cancel this cruise and move our onboard discount we got to rebook this same sailing at the cheaper price? If possible please help walk us thru. We are working with a travel agent but wanted to ask here first. Thank!

Is the new, cheaper price a last minute reduced fare? I believe OBB perks cannot be applied to those.

If you do cancel the current cruise, you'll lose any reservations you may have already made (adult dining, excursions, spa, etc).

I ran into this situation in 2013. Not sure if they are still handling it the same way since it's been so long, but our TA was able to call and have them credit the difference back to our credit card. We did not have to cancel and rebook. But, like stated above, this cannot be done if the new rate you are seeing is a last minute reduced rate. Ours was an actual price drop on the standard rate. It was even after the pay in full date.

Yes, we've done that, also. An actual price drop after PIF date.

I'm not sure how the OBB booking part works, though, on moving to a different cruise.

I just checked the math myself and it is correct and not cheaper. My husband was telling me it was cheaper and he was getting upset, so I came here for advice. Thanks everyone for the replies.
