We booked our 7 day Western late and the only staterooms available were cat. 11 inside stateroom. We've cruised Disney 3 times prior on the Wonder and have always had verandah, or deluxe ocean view. How is the standard inside cabin? I'm afraid of being a bit clostrophobic without any outside light. Should I try and upgrade at the port? I'd be willing to pay for the upgrade if they had one :) If not, I'll still be ecstatic...I'm cruising on the Magic on July 3rd :)

I think you'll be fine because you won't be spending much time in your stateroom anyway. We've sailed in a Cat. 11 many times. Granted, it was just my husband and I, but neither of us felt claustrophobic. There will be plenty of opportunities to get out of your stateroom, such as the "secret" deck 7 aft verandah, deck 4, the Rainforest, etc.

My first DCL cruise was in an inside stateroom. For my second I got a porthole! I am the kind of person that needs a window and natural light. I would probably upgrade if the cost was reasonable. If I had to stay once again in an inside stateroom and it was the only way I could be on the cruise I would do it again - it definitely would not be my first choice - but it is liveable!

I'd put my television on the station that shows the front of the ship and where you're headed and just leave it there. Maybe it'll kind of trick your mind into thinking it's a window. And like I have said many many times, any room on the Magic or Wonder is better than my room at home! Enjoy your cruise.

How many in your party??? We had 4...hubby, me, DS18 and DD 15....DS is over 6 feet and very messy...if it was just hubby and I we would have been fine...but 4 of us was a bit tight. DD and DS kept squabbling which in turn made me cranky.... I also prefer natural light coming in.

Take a night light for at night. Otherwise it is very dark in there. But it made me sleep so great!!!!

We did the same thing as Mermaid02 - left the TV on the channel with the outdoor camera - and it was almost like having a window! Ok, not really, but it helped :-)
We weren't in our room much, so I didn't mind the inside stateroom at all. It is very spacious as well, so I wouldn't think you would feel claustrophobic.
Have fun!

Thanks for all the replys :) It is just my DH and myself in the cabin so I am sure we'll be fine. Again, it's not a matter of the room size as I am afraid that without the outside light I may feel clostrophobic. But, I will ask at check in at the port and see if there is an upgrade available.

Thanks again!

Disneychic, check the DIS meet board--some of us are planning to meet at the deck 7 hidden aft verandah between 10 and 11:30 ish--kind of like a come when you can thing. Hope to see you there!

You might mention the claustrophobia when you try to upgrade. It it bad? Or just a worry? My mom has mild panic attacks and was very afraid of the inside cabin. They were great about upgrading us for a reasonable cost.

We had an inside cabin and it didn't bother us at all. However, we were hardly in the room except to sleep, change, and meet each other.
