Booked in September at SSR, will GFVs be difficult in September?

Hi.
I just booked a 2 bedroom for 8 nights at my home resort SSR for September 20-28, 2014. We have stayed in a GV at SSR and 2 bedrooms at BWV, BCV, BLT. Although we will be very happy to stay again at SSR in September, we would like to try to change at 7 months to experience other resorts. What do you think our chances would be to stay at GFVs during that timeframe? If we can't get GF, we may do WLVs or AKLV since we haven't stayed there yet. Do you think that may be possible if you say GF may not be possible.

I'm thinking that it would be possible. Since they still have a lot of points to sell, there won't be as many owners booking there as there will be in a couple years.

Plus, September is a slightly slower month.

I think booking there at 7 months will be a lot harder in a year or so. Just my opinion though!

We used to own at BLT, but just had to switch to GFV. It's where I stayed every year growing up, and has lots of memories and sentimental value.

Hope everything works out for you in September! We just went this past September, and it was very nice. Plus we went late enough we could get in the Halloween party, which was nice!

September is probably one of your best chances though because that is a slow month. As an example, people say BCV is impossible. We are now 3 for 3 getting BCV in September.

The downside, VGF is the shiny new resort and many want to try it.

Make sure to try exactly at the 7 month mark.

If you are looking fior a 1BR or 2BR at VGF your chances will undoubtedly be high as Sep is a low demand time and thus far for 2014, they have been open at 7 months out even for holiday times. Studios are a different issue since there are only 47. At 7 months out so far for 2014, studios have usually been avaialble but sometimes not and the sometimes not is just random times with no real pattern yet, and whether it is standard or lake view or both that are missing is also random.

As to others, VWL should be open at 7 months out (was for Sep in 2012 and 2013). If by AKLV you mean AKV value rooms, then chances are likley low as during the same time in 2012 and 2013 at 7 months out, 2BRs were usually gone for three to four days of each Sep week (value is usually difficult at 7 months out any time of year). If you mean savanna or standard view, those were even open at 5 months out in 2012 and 2013 for Sep.

Thank you. We have gotten BCVs and BWVs at 7 months 2 bedrooms, when we have wanted them in the past. All for end of August/Labor Day. Hope you are right about GFVs

I'll be looking at a 2 bedroom for all resorts. It's just the 4 of us. I was going to do a GV for SSR but decided to be good with my points. 2 bedroom will be fine and do not care about the view but I will be choosey if I have options.
