Yikes! So I discovered Pricelines "Name your own price" thing today and played with it a bit. I was able to get a room at the Trump hotel in vegas for $75! as we pass through on our way to DL! And my Father-in-law-to-be booked us a room at the Hampton Inn for the first 3 nights with some frequent stay points and I was able to get the other 3 nights at the Marriott Anaheim for $50 a night! :cool1: Woohoo!

So I am wondering if anyone has comments Good or Bad about these hotels. And it is coming soon where i should start calling and booking some meals and such.... any suggestions? and when exactly should i call and reserve these?

thanks!

Congrats! :) You can make priority seating 60 days out, so I believe you are in that window now. You should call the places you don't want to miss.

I don't know anything about those hotels. Actually, DH and I stayed at the Marriott when we went to DL to celebrate getting my BA. That was in 91 so probably too far back to be very relevant. We liked it though. No complaints.

I'm sure you'll have a great time! :yay:

Well you mentioned 3 hotels so I'll take them one at a time...

Trump hotel is not near disneyland and thus horrible. :D Kidding. It's a pretty nice place, bit on the shiny side but very new. It's just not on the strip so if you plan to be expect to drive in or pay for cabs.

Hampton Inn. Not the Trump or a Hyatt but clean, friendly, safe, free breakfast and far from the park. Take the shuttle over, take it back. Pretty close to some out of park shops and restaurants.

Marriott. A bit hard to rate... It's a convention hotel so very professional most days, rooms are nice, beds are nice, can be busy if there's a convention in town (unlikely if you got a PL rate). Walkable to the park but about a mile. Get breakfast on your walk.

One further thought. Since you are driving anyway you might consider buying your park hopper tickets through AAA. They give you free parking at Mickey and Friends. It is written on the back of the tickets. I would think the AAA in Utah would also do this- I got mine in CA, but easy to check. That way you wouldn't have to take the ART or any shuttle to DLR. You can drive on your own time and leave on your time. Much better than crowded shuttles in my opinion. :)

So i was looking at the AAA website and it lets me buy tickets at the AAA member price but i am not a member. Checking out and everything never asked for a Member number or anything.... weird....

So will i still be able to get the Free parking? Do you have to show a membership card or something when you go to park?

I am pretty confused....

Cause since i am not already a member it would cost me $52 for the year to join... and i really wont use it besides this... what does it cost to ride the ART or pay for parking without the membership?

We have been here four times over the past couple years... Booked two through Priceline too. Love it here.. I have a review posted on Trip Advisor with some photos too.. My member number/name is larrylaurie (one word) Here is a link but not sure if it will come through...

Most of the rooms have been remodeled. Comfy beds, Starbucks in house, pool is nice but have never swam in it...

You will love the hotel...

Don't know how that works. I'm a member and I went to the AAA building here to buy them. The tickets will say a sentence on the back that says free parking. I think you have to have at least 3 day parkhopper. Or you could call and just ask someone there.

We have AAA anyway because I like having one phone number to call if I have road trouble no matter where I am. Otherwise, I wouldn't know who to call if I was out of town. :confused3 We also get discounts on some restaurants and hotels with AAA membership. In fact, we used it for a discount at the place we are staying when we go to DLR this June.
