Booked Free Dining at POP!!!

Just booked 9/23 - 10/1 at POP Century with the Free Dining!!! I was only on hold about 20 minutes & had a very nice CM, who moved quickly.

For 2 adults w/one day only tics (we'll be turning these into AP's when we arrive), 8 nights in a Standard View room:

$836.34 was our total

We booked our airfare last week & are already booked from 10/1 - 10/7 at a Boardwalk Villa during the F&W Festival - only thing left to do at this point is make my dinner ressies!!!

If we had paid for the dining for the POP portion of the trip, our total would have been $1,458.52 - so we're saving at least $622.18!! We're going to try some new restaurants that we might not have tried otherwise.

I booked free dining too!!! DH, myself, DD11, DS8 will be at Pop 9/23 - 9/28 with 5 day hopper tickets. This is our first trip and I guess I'm trying to overplan everything! How is the Pop as far as transportation? We are driving so we'll have a car. This board has been more information that I ever thought I could find!!!!!

We were on hold for one hour and twenty minutes! You should have seen me getting ready for work-getting dressed with a phone on my shoulder was the tricky part!

How is the Pop as far as transportation?

We were at POP 12/04 and 9-10/05. Transportation is usually great. Usually get a bus in 15 min. or less.

In 2004 there was one time when we waited almost 45 min. for the MGM bus. When it finally arrived, we were told there had been "an incident". Not sure what that meant.

In 2005 we went to MK on a Sat. night to see Spectro. WOW, was the bus line LONG afterwards! The stop is at the very end, but the line went through the queue, then down along the fence, almost to the first bus stop. They handled it VERY well though. There were times that they were loading 3 POP buses all at the same time.

Wow - looks like a few of us will be at POP at the same time!! This will actually be our 4th stay at POP - we love it there!

I agree with the previous poster - I've always had great luck with transportation at POP. It is pretty centrally located, so it is only about a 5-6 minute bus ride to MGM, less than 10 minutes to Epcot and Animal Kingdom & less than 15 minutes to the Magic Kingdom. The busses always came pretty frequently when we were there - never waiting more than 10 minutes for a bus during our 12 day trips.

Upon park closing, every resort will have a line, but it is not unusual for some of the busier resorts like POP & the All Stars to load multiple busses at once for park closing. The line usually seems longer than it is.

I am so excited since this in an unexpected trip due only to the free dining. This will be our first time at POP (and first value) but I am really looking forward to it. Me, DH and DD14 will be checking in on August 22 - August 29 with 8 day hoppers and the waterpark option and of course FREE DINING. Have great trips everyone and see you at POP!

Same here... had 7 nights booked, then upgraded to 9 nights when the free dining was announced. Still saved $371 even with 10 day PH plus passes.

We will be at POP too ! we got 2 rooms with free dining. We have 3 kids and DS is too big for the trundle at POR now, and he needs his own bed. Never stayed at POP and I am looking forward to it and cant wait to take loads of photos for my website.
