Well it is official. The rates for 2006 opened this morning. I was able to book the 7/1/2006 Western and got my secret porthole room again. I'm so excited, but I also can't believe how much it costs. Sticker shock. Think I'll start checking around now at other travel agencies and see how much they are charging. And I got the 10% off for booking on board too. Well at least I have 2 years to save up for it. Will anyone else be cruising on 7/1/06?

I am shocked with the prices too. Even though I have my request in with Allseas I was curious to see the rate difference betweent he cat 9 and 6, and the rate for week of Easter. This is what I was quoted by DCL (2 Adults, 15 & 10 year olds), no insurance, no transfers.

July 8 Eastern
Cat 6 $6812.52 Cat 9 $5272.52

April 15 Eastern
Cat 6 $8032.52 Cat 9 $6232.52

June 24 New Western CC2x
Cat 6 $6779.12 Cat 9 $5239.12

June 10 Eastern
Cat 6 $6432.52 Cat 9 $4952.52

Thank goodness I have the 10% from on board..one of those 50% would be great!

Do these prices seem high for just coming out! I may have to check other ships...oh how I hate to!!

My rate thru DCL for cat 10, 2 adults, 2 kids (17 & 14) is $5612.72. Plus I get a $200 on board credit. I've already gotten a quote of $295 lower thru Micdan.com. Still checking others.

Just wanted to update my info for anyone who thought this was high. First of all DCL never gave me the 10% off when I called them. I figured this out afterwards. But I called AAA and they gave me a price of $5128.72 plus I still get to keep my $200 on board credit and they gave me a $75 on board credit plus 10% off on rentals at Castaway Cay and 10% in the Treasure Ketch. So my total after the credits comes out to $4853.72. Does anyone think that I can still get a better deal somewhere else? I'm always looking out for bargains. This is still going to be hard to save up for knowing that I need spending money too.

Just wondering if there is a cancellation fee if you book through a TA (as opposed to DCL with no penalty if you cancel before 60 days out). I know once when I got a TA quote there was a $25pp cancellation fee.

The 2006 rates are astronomical. What do we have to look forward to beyond 2006???
