I booked the free dining package this morning via the Disney website. I had to pay a deposit of $430 with the balance due 45 days before trip starts. In the past the deposit was only $200. Just thought it was different than usual. :confused3

If you booked 2 rooms the deposit would have been $400, but I don't know about the additional $30. :confused3

I'm really confused myself. It is only one room at POR, three adults and two children, plus trip insurance. Maybe it is the trip insurance ?? I was so excited to get free dining I didn't really think about the difference in the deposit until later.

I did add the deposit and remaining balance, and it does equal the package price.

Of course with a bigger deposit, it makes the payoff a little less in a few weeks. :cool1:

Sounds about right, although I wasn't aware you needed to pay that in advance online. It's roughly $80 per adult so that'd be right about $240 or so additional.

The addition of travel insurance makes sense, although I didn't realize it had to be paid so soon either.

I looked in my package booklet from last year and under the Terms and Conditions I did find this:
"For reservations that include vacation insurance, the total price of vacation insurance may also be due at the time the deposit is due."

Mine was the same thing last night when FD went up online. Paid the $200 deposit and then had to pay for the trip insurance up front. (Darn fall sports that may or may not cause injuries) :)

Huh - must be an online thing with the trip insurance. Over the phone isn't due immediately, but you can't take it off after 2 weeks.

It is the trip insurance, they now charge that plus the deposit if you book it when you book your package.
