Got a cracking deal from Thomson for a cheeky week at AKL including our park tickets and dining plan. Normally we don't stay on property and I buy tickets from FloridaTix, so I can easily add them to My Disney Experience and start booking FP+.

This time I just have a Thomson booking reference, but nothing specific to the park tickets or hotel reservation, so I don't know how I'm going to get everything linked together so I can making FP+ reservations at 60 days and maybe select Magic Band colours (I'm guessing I should be able to do this?). At least I've been able to start making ADRs straight away.

Has anyone else gone through this process and can give me some pointers before I start phoning Thomson/Disney searching for answers?

Hi, Your Thomson booking reference should work and find your resort, dining plan and tickets automatically on MDE. It worked for me both last year and this year. The reference you need is one that's about 8 numbers long and not separated by a forward slash.

Thanks, that's good to know. We did find that number, but it didn't work, so I wasn't sure it was what I needed.

I've just called Disney and they told me that it might take up to a week. The CM checked directly for our booking at AKL and it wasn't on their system yet. Guess I'll have to be patient, which is hard when you're this excited!! :yay:

Just in case anyone else is looking for an answer to this question in the future and finds this thread, I have now been able to link my booking to My Disney Experience. As Monica said, you just need the accommodation booking reference from the Thomson paperwork. In our case it took from booking on Saturday until today, the following Thursday, to be able to add it on MDE. Having added the hotel booking, it automatically linked up our Disney dining plan and park tickets that were all booked together. Actually a really slick system.

I did have to update the names that it had imported from the booking to match those already in MDE - it had imported us all as M. whatever, so I was M. J. Noble (the M. being Mr/Mrs/Mstr) - so that was a bit weird. The only other thing that wasn't quite right was that it said that with our tickets we can start to make FP+ reservations 30 days out, when it should be 60. I'm going to assume that was a display issue and that I will be able to do it at 60 days, given that it seems to fully understand everything that we have booked.

I've now started customizing our Magic Bands, which is pretty cool. I love how the excitement of a Disney holiday is there weeks before you go - it's not like going anywhere else in that respect!
