We've not been in 3 years, and have spent more than 5 weeks in WDW since.
Our WDW trips have just be SO perfect and magical that as excited as I am for DLRP I keep thinking things like....
"I wish we could eat at Kona"
"We won't get to see Philharmagic"
"There's no EPCOT"
"Newport Bay sure isn't the Boardwalk"
I know I'm super lucky to be going to DLRP, and there's no way we could make it to WDW this year.
I think this trip will either make or break DLRP for us, we're going really to see Dreams, and because we got a great deal. But it's so hard not to compare!

We're heading back there in June after a short break of just over a year and we're really looking forward to it- Dreams will be awesome (hopefully!).
if you start comparing it's always going to fall short. We gave it a break for 3 years as we all felt DLPed ( I know that's not a proper word but hope you know what I mean) out but when we went back again last year we all really enjoyed it and booked again for this year even though we hadn't really intended to! We're going to
I totally agree, you know you'll still have a great time, have fun
