Booked but still on the fence?

Fireworks cost 50k or more a night. They won’t do them if they can only have 35% capacity. They need to sell more tickets to justify that cost. It has nothing to do with safety. Other theme parks have had fireworks for a while. If Disney wanted to they could do them.

I am well aware....all I want is Port Orleans Riverside to open, its a fave of mine for whatever reason LOL. Im currently booked at Caribbean Beach but would switch it in a heartbeat over to POR if they reopen by December

I'm booked at CSR, which I actually like, but I've stayed at AKL my last few trips and will switch over if they are open in December and have availability. I really want to try POFQ, but they aren't open either. We were supposed to stay there for the first time last year, but then the world went to hell.

They CAN have that capacity if they want to. They are CHOOSING to restrict guests and offerings

I thought about switching over to CSR in GDT, but I am kinda holding out for POR as it is just special for some reason. I still might make the switch anyway and then switch to POR IF it opens up

If Universal keeps playing this right, they're going to laugh all the way to the bank. This is the first time we've even considered universal and are doing a 7 night portofino stay simply because of how disney is handling things. I suspect there are many people turning to Universal as first timers this year.

Staying 7 days at CSR in October and am definitely going. Had to cancel my May 2020, trip, so I'm ready to get back to Disney. All the adults in my party have been vaccinated, and we have 2 little kids who have not. I'm hoping by then masks will not be required outdoors, but if they are, we'll make do. Since my trip is after October 1st, my hope is some restrictions will have been lifted, and things will look a little more normal.

Common sense would say masks wouldn't be required outdoors, but at this point who knows what Disney will decide. I am holding out hope that things will be good to go by December

Got my DH to open a Marriott credit card last year that gave 5 free nights after spending a certain amount, so we are booked at Swan Reserve the last week of Sept. Not on the fence, definitely will go. Totally forgot about the big anniversary, but as we are leaving Oct 1 hoping the crowds aren't too bad for us.

People who complain about mobile ordering being so onerous kill me because before all of this, back when nobody knew about it, it was amazing. It was straight up FP+ for food. Deciding on a whim that I wanted a dole whip on the way to the Tiki Room, pulling up the app as I walked over and waltzing past a huge line to get my snack always made me feel really smug lol. I'd be sitting in the show eating it before most of those people even got to the counter to order.

If anything I'm salty that everyone being forced to do it let the secret out to the luddites. I'm sad the old days of just rolling up like that are probably going to stay gone even after things are relatively back to normal.
I always felt that way about mobile ordering at Starbucks, but have never used it at Disney, mostly because they only recently added the ability to pay with gift cards.

I wouldn't expect for Disney to extend park hours significantly after the pandemic- maybe an hour or two added at most. They had already begun shortening hours long before anyone had ever heard of Covid, and EMH as we once knew them are gone.

Masks are likely going to be required indoors until sometime in 2022. Disney's branding is all about safety and they aren't going to completely drop their mask requirements until the rest of the USA does (not just certain states, but virtually all of the states).

It seems likely that fireworks will be back for the 50th anniversary in the fall, as life will probably be easing back to normal by then, and lots of places around the US will probably have fireworks displays on the 4th of July this year, normalizing that experience somewhat.

I would not expect significant discounts for fall of 2021, as that is the 50th anniversary, and there will still be a lot of limitations on Americans' other vacation options at that point. Many a family who might have gone on a cruise or to an all-inclusive in the Caribbean will instead go to WDW. That, combined with reduced resort capacity, isn't going to put downward pressure on prices.
What do you think about bbb opening up?

All over my IG feed during spring break were people in Florida. Not one went to Disney. They all went to universal. I’m actually contemplating booking at universal now since we cancelled Disney for October and doing the HHN. I think outside masks will be gone at universal way before Disney.
Yes. That’s where we will be if certain things aren’t open for disney and will just wait a couple years to do Disney.

All I want is for BBB to be open for my daughters 5th birthday! Third world problems, I know. I wouldn’t think twice about going if that was open on her birthday and she could get a picture with the princesses even if from 3ft away, and possibly masks being lifted outside even if they are required inside or in ride lines and busses

I think it's very likely that masks won't be required outdoors by late fall. I have no clue about BBB.

Its all good until theres a glitch and the order doesn't go through. happened to us and it was stressful

I am at wdw now and have a trip planned for Nov. The good thing for us is no fast passes. I think the lines are generally OK with some being over an hour. I like not having to plan. I like the distancing in lines mainly because I never liked having someone real close to me in line. I like the character cavalcades. The not so good is stores closed or lines to get in, shows closed, no fireworks, and I have trouble with a mask in what has been extremely humid and hot weather. Not a mask gripe as I wear them but it is not easy in this weather. Also quick services gets crowded quickly. Even with mobile ordering people with food are walking around looking for an empty table. They need to open all the quick service places. I am keeping up with what goes on between now and Oct. The Nov trip may be canceled if things don't improve more. 2022 may be better.

We have a trip planned in mid-August. I expect that we will know a lot more in the next 3-4 weeks about the overall pandemic situation and Disney's response. At that time, either things will get better, stay the same or get worse. With each of those options comes the possibility of Disney making changes to its current restrictions. Fingers crossed that everything keeps improving and Disney can decrease/eliminate restrictions. But if things stay the same or get worse, I hope Disney doesn't make changes due only to outside pressure.

If it doesn't open, there are laid off cast members that will give her the BBB treatment. Check out the Ear for us all Facebook group.

I booked a non refundable Costco package for November. I am kicking myself...I didn't realize there was a refundable rate. I have really mixed feelings about going "for sure"...I think I would want masks to be done outdoors and some options beyond what is currently there. Plus, I am worried now about crazy lines. I feel like I should wait a couple of months and might have a much better feel for how it is looking.

We are booked for November but I am strangely not excited. Masks, no fireworks, nothing to plan yet, etc.

The real kicker for us is the waitlist for pools?!? We are from the frosty north and cherish our pool time. I can’t imagine telling my kids they can’t (or have to wait) swim in Florida.

Booked but could see us cancelling if something doesn’t give by then.
