Somehow I got booked at 'Ohana for a 650 pm and an 8pm ADR the same night. I have an afternoon tea scheduled at Grand Floridian for 2pm. Which one would you cancel? Are there advantages or disadvantages to either time slot? I am thinking of cancelling the 8pm. Ideas?

Only advantage I can see is watching Wishes (im not sure of the view) from there if you keep the 8pm one. But if the fireworks are at 10pm that night, than there's the obstacle. Also if you have no other transportation, you'll have a fun time trying to get back to your resort if you're not staying within the area. Unless there is a park with EMH's that night.

Depends on what time MK fireworks are that night....If you time it right, you can see them from 'Ohana.

I would keep the earlier one unless you are staying right there. It can be very hard to get back to some of the resorts the later it is.

I see several variables here:

1. As PPs mentioned, it could be difficult getting back to resort after an 8:00 ADR, but that will depend on how late MK is open that night. If they are open until 9:00, you should have no problem getting back to MK to get a bus to your resort. However, you can also walk to the TTC and get a bus from there (or at least I think you can).

2. Remember Ohana is an all-you-can-eat, so having eaten at 2:00 or so, may or may not leave you enough room to truly enjoy the meal at 6:50. But that depends on the person.

3. Park time. Is this a non-park day for you? Otherwise, you've taken time out of the parks for your afternoon tea, and then you would have about 3 to 3 1/2 hrs to get to/from a park and back to the Poly for your 6:50 ADR. The later ADR gives you more park time.

Just be warned that Afternoon Tea can be very filling. We usually do this as our big meal of the day and have a lighter meal later in the evening. I would keep the later ADR time.

Thanks for the replies. I cancelled the earlier time and as the parks close early in Jan. I think we will be there during the fireworks show. I don't know whether we will be able to view it, but it is our last night and we will have already seen Wishes live from Main St earlier in our trip so it might be a fitting farewell for our last evening. As far as transport after we can either find a park with evening EMH to transfer at or use DD which seems to take longer, but is always an option.

I would cancel teh earlier time,if you are going to tea at 2p by the time you are done its 3 3:30 so a 6:30 dinner seems early, plus with fireworks you can see them from the resturant or if you are done early go watch them from the poly beach and catch the barge light show on the water too.

I'd keep the 8 p.m. I'm usually pretty full after Tea at the GF, and sometiems we've been there for up to 90 minutes so I'd like more time before my next meal.

We had a 6:50 reservation but did not get seated until close to 8pm.

It was a mess in there but so worth the wait.

If you don't mind, getting a taxi is the best option. The fare (depending on where you're staying) isn't that bad. If it's any within the Area (even the all star resorts) it shouldnt be more than 20$
