A TA may have perks for using them. Onboard credit is not unusual, however a transferred reservation may not get as much OBC as it would if you had used the TA to make the reservation in the first place. You'd have to ask whatever TAs you are interested in what, if anything, they will give you for transferring the booking to them.

One note, transfers to TAs must be done within 30 days, so don't dilly-dally.

I will say I have missed your advice PrincessShmoo since I got back from my Dec cruise. Now that I rebooked I will be back on here more often. I got a $250 onboard credit for doing the placeholder correct? What will happen to that if I transfer?

The OBC for an onboard booking is $200 for a 7 night or longer cruise. I don't believe that will be affected by transferring to a TA, since it's from DCL.

Generally, TAs offer some OBC if you use them to book a cruise. They give that OBC out of their "cut" from DCL for booking clients on one of their cruises. DCL has cut the commission to TAs on transferred bookings (since they don't do the initial work booking the cruise), and thus some TAs have also cut the amount of OBC they will in turn give you out of their commission.

So if the TA offers an OBC, I get one from them and I get to keep the one from Disney? awesome
