Booked a DVC studio just through the Disney website...

...is there anything I need to know that is different from a regular reservation made through the website? Studio at AKL Jambi. It's my first time staying in a DVC property. (One night only if that changes anything. It is already paid for just as any other one night room-only reservation.)

No major difference in reserving a DVC via Disney direct, for one night the only difference from a regular room is that check-in time is 4 PM vs 3 PM for a regular guest room.

Yep you can store your luggage no problem. I think since you are Jambo and "on cash" your check in is still 3pm.

And since you are jambo it isn't even a DVC resort. It is the regular old animal kingdom lodge. Your only difference will be that the room is configured differently (kitchenette and 1 queen bed).

i went back and forth (probably se some kind of record for the number of changes i made in like 3 days) between options, but ultimately decided to treat myself a little and have somewhere nice to wait and hopefully a nice breakfast before getting on the bus to the ship!! i'm super excited to be at AKL!!

The DVC rooms are located on the 5th floor. They are the old deluxe room category meaning they are larger then the standard animal kingdom rooms on the other 4 floors... They are longer by a few feet...some do not like to be on the higher floors for the view.. I have seen no difference.. but being they are longer you will not see the rooms below you. As far as everything else it has one queen bed and one queen pullout sofa. If you have only 2 people it is very nice to have a sofa to sit on. as above you will have a kitchenette if that makes a difference.
