:dance3: I am excited. I wanted to take my son, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren to Disney World next year for Thanksgiving. But because of all my trips this year I only have 240 pts for next year. I was on the computer at 8:00 and booked a 2 bedroom value. I know the rooms are smaller, but my grandchildren will be 7 and 3 so it will be fine.
I had figured it I did not get the value room I would book 2 nights in a standard 1 bedroom and then 5 nights in a standard 2 bedroom, but now I do not have to worry about packing up and moving.
I know the parks will be busy the closer it gets to Thanksgiving, but that's okay, we will be prepared and I know we will have a great time.
Now on to obsessing about the dining and park days ;) I am an obsessive planner.

Great snag!!! I booked AKV club level for August...had to walk it to get it for the 3 nights I wanted. But then our friends, who are also going but staying in an off site timeshare, couldn't get that week so we had to bump up a week earlier and club level was gone :sad1:. I booked savannah view instead which I am still excited about. I have about 6 weeks until ADRs so I am also obsessing...though our friends will be off site and likely won't want to dine on site so much .

So what places are you thinking of making ADRs at? We are probably taking DS-18's GF for her very 1st WDW trip. I am trying to figure out must do dining places. Since we'll be at AKV, we'll likely do Boma (but I also love Sanaa). While at BWV (for 4 nights) we'll do Epcot dining a couple nights...can't decide between Biergarten (meh), Chefs De France and San Angle Inn (meh food but great atmosphere).

Good catch and smart move. For those curious as to how important it is to book value at 8 a.m. 11 months out and to book for a starting date on the Sat before Thanksgiving rather than Sun, be aware that by 9 a.m. eastern today, the value studios were gone for 4 of the nights of Thanksgiving week, 2BRs for five of the nights, and 1BRs for three.

I know we will want to go to Boma for Breakfast, I have to do the tea at the GF, and I would love to go the Hoopdedo Revue and Teppan Edo one night. We will wait until after the holidays and get together and talk about what Character Breakfasts we will want to do and decide where we would like to eat for Thanksgiving. We've got time to work it out, but since we will be there for Thanksgiving I will be ready at the 180 day mark to book what we want so we are not locked out of what we really want.
I am seriously considering the dining plan this time, with 3 adults it may be worth it.

I knew that there are not a whole lot of the value villas, I set my alarm on my phone and my radio so that I would get up at 7:30 this morning. That gave me time to get my computer up and running, sign onto the DVC website and get a pot of coffee started. At exactly 8:00 I was on the website and booking my room.

I was debating Teppan Edo too. My DD really wants to go there. We make ADRs on Feb 1. We usually book a dinner every night and a couple lunches but this time I think we'll just book 4 meals total over the week and try for walk ins if needed. I just don't know how much WDW we'll be doing since we'll be hanging with off-site friends (and they don't like the price of WDW tickets so they likely will only get 2 day non-hoppers). We're also doing 2 days at Universal...Harry Potter, woo hoo.

Thinking:
Boma dinner
Ohana dinner (usually a must do for us...but DH said maybe we'll skip it)
50s Prime Time or Sci Fi dinner
Biergarten or San Angel Inn dinner
and maybe Yak and Yeti lunch (usually a must do for us)

A friend of mine just came back from WDW and they ate at Teppan Edo and loved it. It one of those places that I've always wanted to try but just haven't gotten there. I've skipped Ohana these past couple of trips. I just was not as happy with the food and service there. I love Sci Fi for lunch, and 50's Prime Time for dinner. I have had good meals at Biergarten, and we always enjoy the entertainment.

Teppan Edo is fine but be aware that though it is included as a restaurtant in the Disney Dining Plan, it does not accept Tables in Wonderland.
