We typically don't do either the reg DDP because we don't like to do that many TS meals. The QS plan doesn't usually work out in our favor because we aren't much into desserts and when run against OOP, the OOP works better.

Flash forward to this trip. We are doing CRT. I had 2 other TS scheduled (TH and Sci Fi) but changed them when the Star Wars meals came out. Now we have added Sci Fi and H&V that are 2 TS credits each. I ran the numbers and it comes out almost even - we might save about $50-100 on DDP but we would have to do one more TS (we would have 7 total and used 6 on the above meals).

I am thinking with the resort mugs (DH would have gotten one anyway and probably would have to get the kids each one) and the fact that we could get extra drinks when eating at our resort that it might be worth it as long as we don't mind taking park time out for another TS meal. WWYD? Advice? Thoughts?

Since you only need one more meal, I'd pick one and get the DDP especially since you are going to buy the mugs anyway. You do need to work on using the CS credits though.

I'd do it for sure - it's those set price meals that can make the DDP worth it. Same thing sort of happened to us - when I did the math I realized it was cheaper to do DP and added another meal. Sort of a nice bonus, I figured.

If you're certain you're going to save money, then it's probably worthwhile to get the DDP. However, I'm not sure that the Star Wars meals are actually good use of credits. Based on the current DDP price ($60.50/adult/night), I assume a QS meal is about $17.50 and a snack is about $4, which leaves about $39 for the TS meal. That means a 2 TS meal would need to cost about $78 to be economically efficient on the DDP and neither Star Wars meal cost that much.

Yeah but I think we make it up with the kids. We pay $19 a day for them and each of the 2TS meals is like $30-$39 per child.

I am not sure we will save too much with the plan. Last time I ran the numbers, they were almost equal but we would get another TS meal on the DDP and another resort mug. (I was only going to buy 3.)
