Ugh! So, we want to go to Disney June 6 - 16th because that works best with everyones schedule. AP discounts end June 3rd but there is currently the Spring Discount offers. I have heard the theory (and it makes sense) that if everyone books with the Spring offer then that discourages an AP offer but what if the new AP offer isn't release until the new Summer Discount offer that is rumored. I much prefer the AP discount because then we can add dining. I really need a discount to make this long of a trip work, and honestly, I think some of the rooms are more fairly priced with the discount in mind.

Also, if we book a Spring Offer room and purchase at least one day tickets for everyone we can add the dining. Can the one day tickets be used at a later date and upgraded to a multi-day ticket? Not everyone in the party has an AP so we do need some multi-day tickets and those with an AP can just hold on to their ticket.

Advice? Thanks!

I would book a room only. Why waste money on one day tickets if you don't need them. The Tables in Wonderland card is so much better than the ddp. I used to be a big fan of the dining plans, but I save a lot more money using the TIW. If you really want the ddp than I would wait and book with the AP discount.

Disney is sharp enough to watch the trends as to those who book, then rebook when a 'better' promo rolls out. imo they are able to reasonably predict the % of people who will flip a reservation.

Not sure what date you're referencing as to the next AP offer, but April 2nd has been reported as next likely general promo release date.

We're going the same general time frame in June. Wasn't happy to see the AP rates cut off before the expiry of the general promo:rolleyes:. Surprised to find an orbitz 20% off code of the spring promo rates (now expired). Now wondering if a possible AP rate would even beat my current rate:scratchin.

jmho but there's a a lot of new AP holders with the DVC discount this year who could be looking to book an extra CRO vs points trip. It may just keep the % and number of AP offers 'down'.

re removing tix from a pkg, thus far we've had no issue, requesting it when we check in for a paper tix that we stockpile for a future visit. Have no idea if the upcomiing RFID system will mess that up or not.

I ended up booking a room through another travel site in order to get a discount. Now, if Disney comes in with a good AP offer I'll cancel the room and book directly with Disney. However, I'm just not confident that they will cover my dates and something is better than nothing :/

It is aggravating to have AP rates cover less days than the GP rate. I guess it is Disneys way of getting every penny they can. What it is doing to us though is we are staying at Moderates or Values more often and/or reducing the number of trips. Hope they are about to reach the price sensitivity point for most people and then we won't continue to see a drop in discounts. Actually, it would be nice if rack rates were reasonable but that is another discussion entirely...

I guess I will look into the Tables in Wonderland card. I personally was not interested in the dining plan but some of our group was. Another unintentional consequence of AP discounts being different is that Disney just lost a potential set of dining plan purchases if people book through other sites or through Disney but leave it off.
