Hello. Was wondering if anyone has ever used a book to help explain sex/puberty to their young children? My son is 8 1/2 and I want to get some help from a book so I don't sound like a complete moron :teeth:
Thanks!

Everyone sounds like a moron when they talk about sex to their kids.

It has been an open subject in our family since the kids were little, but it almost always sounds contrived, and your kids are always think you are a dope for thinking they don't already know it all.

True, true. Just hoping someone out there has experience from a good book that explains things a lot better than I could, and I could read it with him. I have been very open too, but my son isn't one to ask a lot of questions and keeps things inside more than my daughter. I believe he is starting to hear things on the bus and from other kids, so now I want to take things a step further.

I bought a book for my son (he was 9) and it's called "What's going on Down There?"

My son had some odd things happen to him which I won't go into here but he was also getting some "action" in that area and it was really freaking him out. So I got him this book. Honestly, parts of it were a bit too old for him but it seemed to help with all he needed to know.

I think you can look it up on line and you can get a pretty decent overview of it.

Thanks for your help :thumbsup2 I just wrote that one down. Why can't these kids stay babies a bit longer? :teeth:
