I bought this book a few weeks ago from amazon.com :thumbsup2 My six (soon to be seven) year old twins have basically memorized their multiplication tables in a matter of weeks. I owe it all to this book!

The author of this book has one for addition too, but my kids have pretty much their own method for addition. I didn't want to mess them up. Although, I did pick up the addition one for a friend of mine. It looks like it would be great for pre-schoolers that understand the concept of adding.

I am amazed at how fast they caught on to the times tables. I think this book was initially written for children with ADD, but it works wonders with all children.

Just thought I would share with you guys incase anyone wanted to get a headstart on times tables :teacher:

The book is called::Times Tables the Fun Way: Book for Kids: A Picture Method of Learning the Multiplication Facts

And it is by:: Judy Liautaud, Dave Rodriguez, and Val Chadwick Bagley

Thanks so much - I'll check this one out - we will be doing times tables this year - & addition has been enough of a struggle...

Gonna see if Barnes N Nobles can get it in for me ---

THANKS for sharing!!! :goodvibes

Just peeked @ the addition one = looks good -

would you believe I have a friend you wrote a book with the same number concept teaching you the 10 commandments - using numbers drawn as things in the photo to help you remember ---never thought about the concept for math...

Seriously, this book is a bit scary. It is weird how fast children learn when the material is presented in a non-traditional way.

My 8 year old son didn't struggle with his times tables, BUT-it took the second grade teacher (and she was an awesome teacher!) almost all year to teach what my 6 year olds just learned in a matter of weeks. I wish I would have found this book earlier.

My daughter just walked by me and I whipped out =="4X4!" and she said "16--Mom you have to be 16 to drive a 4 by 4" :rotfl:

Neat stuff.

Thank you! I just put that on my wish list. :goodvibes

DD is almost 11 and has really struggled with the times tables. Hopefully this will help!

Thank you! I may need the addition one. My son starts K in the fall and our district has started a new program (Everyday Math) and many people say it fails to teach them the addition/multi. tables.

Beth, I hate everyday math! I don't know what these school districts are thinking with that crap. :sad2:
