Book Now for FD or wait?

We are so excited that FD will be offered in September. I know that in order to get it, the room type must be available. With that said, is it best to book the vacation now and call back to "add" free dining when the promotion comes out OR is it best to wait and book on the first day of the promotion, so it doesn't look like rooms in the category are sold out? What has worked best for my experienced DIS friends?

It makes absolutely no difference and booking the room now won't guarantee you a FD discount on a particular room come May 9th.

You are essentially doubling your work if you book now and rebook on May 9th with free dining. I'm waiting. In fact I'll have an email drafted to my TA with all the essentials ready and waiting, when I see the official notice with the booking code on May 9th I'll add that and hit send!

I'm waiting until FD offer comes out to book. If a significant portion of the rooms in the category that I want are already booked Disney has no need to discount those room. Therefore I believe (just my opinion) that less room would be offered at the discounted rate making it more difficult to get FD. So I've been holding back since January.

When FD goes live can you book it online via there website or do you have to do it via a phone number ?

We don't live in America to using the phone could be a hassle.

You can book it online for sure, or use a travel agent if you have one. Just make sure you come back here and find the booking code (three letters) to give the travel agent if they aren't a Disney specialist.

If you do it online make sure you enter the "Book Your Room" pages through the "Special Offers" link. Otherwise you will get all the way through selecting the resort and dates but won't be able to find free dining and need to start over.
