I can sympathize. Before last year, I always booked my March trip in November or December (whenever the seat sales became available). Last year, I booked my March trip in July of the previous year and booked my August trip in October of the previous year. I was worried about the prices. I tried not to check the prices often, but I did a few time and it never went down. So I felt better about my choice.
This year, I booked my March and August trip similarly to last year. Again, I was nervous about the prices.
But for next year, I waited until a week ago to book my March flights. I didn't get a great deal. But it is somewhat of a seat sale. And I know how expensive a flight from YHZ to MCO can be. We were able to get Roundtrip non-stop tickets for 4 for $2900. 2 years ago, the March trip only cost me $1900 and the August trip even less than that.
Sorry, I guess it didn't really answer your question. What I was getting at was that it's best to book when your happy with the price. And since you have a preference for non-stop flights (as I do), I understand your concern. I guess it depends on how important it is to get the non-stop flight. If not, then I'm sure there will be connecting flights available later on. It may go up or down. You would have to be prepared to live with it. I'm absolutely no help, but I thought I'd let you know, that a lot of us are in the same boat. You just have to decide when it's time. It is possible that a few months from now, they'll be a seat sale or not. Awful, I know.
Good Luck.
