Boo to You & Turning 2! Oct 2012 PTR *NEW* 10/30 We're Back! TR Link Posted!!

Well, two years ago I missed it because I was only a couple weeks away from my due date, so that wasn't happening, and last year we only missed them by a few days. I am SO happy it worked out that they will be there for the dates we already planned!! :yay: I plan to go to at least one performance each night if possible, so maybe we will see you there! It's funny, there are quite a few Hanson fan on the DIS...my avatar used to be Taylor before I changed it to DS and I used to get messages quite often from people who recognized him & were also fans. :rotfl:

:lmao:

I saw surprised at the amount of "YES! Hanson!" comments on the thread announcing the ETTB lineup! Makes me proud!

In 2010 DD had no idea what was going on. She'd have rather been on some sort ride than watching her mom dance like a fool. I began to condition her as a Hanson fan shortly thereafter and last October she had a blast! We were walking by the (huge) line of girls waiting to get in and she was crying because "Mommy! I want MMMBop!" That got her a lot of attention! She was the one dancing a fool that time and people were actually asking to take pictures (no) with her in her "I heart Hanson" shirt. Now, at 3, she knows the words (or rather, her version of them) to a solid 90% of their songs and when I told her we were going back for the Halloween party this year all she wanted to know was "Are we going to see Hanson again too?" :thumbsup2 You bet, kid, you bet!

Have a wonderful trip! Hopefully Paxton will be all adjusted to California time by the time you leave!!!!!

Well, we made a little progress, but it's still going to be iffy! :rotfl: Thank you for the well wishes though. Hopefully it's not too miserable for any of us.

Such a cute story about your DD! I'm pretty excited about being able to take DS to his very first Hanson concert too. He loves to dance, so I'm sure he will have a great time. Maybe you can answer this question? How early in advance do you think we will need to line up before the performance? I know Hanson fans are a whole different breed, so I'm sure it's a lot different than for the other bands! One of my friends from work told me a funny story about Hanson fans...She went on the Rock Boat for the last couple of years, and this past time she had the opportunity to sit and talk to one of the guys from Ingram Hill. She asked how it was with the boat being full of fans and if people harassed them on the ship. He said no, that the fans seemed cool and just told them hi or how much they enjoyed the show, and that all the other performers he had talked to had the same experience...EXCEPT Hanson!! :rotfl: He was like, "Those girls are crazy! They stalked the guys all over the ship!" Sadly, I was not at all surprised to hear this. :lmao:

Well, it's finally arrived...today is officially Day 0 of our trip! :rotfl: We are all packed and will be heading out to New Orleans in a few hours to spend the day at my parents house and hopefully get a good night's sleep for our early departure tomorrow morning!!

Thanks to all of you who thought you were joining in on a WDW PTR and ended up in the middle of a unexpected DL one and stuck around. ;) I promise, when we get back, the DL trip will have its own TR and this PTR can go back to talking about our October WDW plans!

I'll be back with the link in about a week's time!

And also, a very Happy Mother's Day to all the moms reading my PTR!

:woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana:

I'm sure you won't see this until you get back, but I hope you have a great mothers day and a fun trip!

I guess you are on your way to DL this morning!! :cool1: Sending you lots of pixie dust for a fantastic trip!! Can't wait to read about it when you return!!

Hanson fans are definitely in their own category! How early you want to get in line depends on how close you want to be. We had a 1:30pm ADR in Italy on their first day and once we were finished (around 3pm) I went over to the pavilion to scope it out. Surprisingly, there was almost no one in line -- maybe 50 people. Had I got in line right then we would have been in the 1st or 2nd row. It WAS tempting but I held off because DD wanted to "explore".

The first set was at 5:30pm and at 5pm I went to get seats. We were a row behind the covered area but it worked to our advantage. DD had A LOT of room to run and dance and I didn't have to worry about her getting knocked over by a crazed Fanson! Your BEST bet to getting up close, if that's what you desire, is to wait for their 6:45pm set. After each "show" they empty the pavilion and the line starts all over -- an awesome concept considering how territorial their fans are. The people in line are allowed in first and as soon as you see the CM start letting in people who weren't in line for the 5:30 set, get in line! You'll be among the first there for 6:45 while still being able to hear and see (quite well) the 5:30 one!

Hope that wasn't too confusing! :rotfl:

We actually skipped the 6:45 last time (DD wanted dinner!) and wound up with almost the same seats for the 7pm one as we did at 5:30. That set had A LOT more energy than the first -- it was dark, the lighting was great, and it felt more like a Hanson show than the earlier one. We'll probably do the same this time too (depending on what time we get there -- we don't land in Orlando until 1pm on the 23rd!) and I plan on doing the line trick this time.

Hope you're all still sound asleep right now and Paxton has adjusted to the time!! Can't wait to hear how your first day went and if you got any park time in! Have a great trip!

Hope you have an amazing trip to Disneyland! Can't wait to hear all about it and the similarities/differences to WDW :goodvibes

aww I missed the send off. I hope y'all are having a wonderful time!

Hope you've had a great time in DL! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Thanks everyone! Well, we had a fantastic time in Disneyland, and I was so sad to leave yesterday. We are hanging out in Seattle, getting ready to take Paxton to play in the park, and I'm missing walking down Main Street and riding the attractions with Paxton. But we were definitely bitten by the DL bug and will be back. I don't know when, but this is not our last DL visit, I can tell you that! Anyway, we will be back home in a couple more days, and I just can't WAIT to start my Disneyland TR and share our pictures & memories with y'all!

Thank you so much for the info, this helps a lot in my planning!!

Glad you had a great time in DL! It's so different from DW right?? I couldn't get over how small it was but it's special in it's own way. Plus, Walt actually walked around that park! Can't wait to read all about it :)

So glad to hear your DL trip was AWESOME! Can't wait to read about it!!

Hope you had a nice time in Seattle, too. Which park were you taking Paxton to? I hope the weather held up for ya!

Woo! Glad y'all had a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it!

I'm getting everything organized & ready to hopefully start my TR soon!

It was such a weird feeling, most especially on Main Street, to feel like I knew what was going to be around the corner but have it be something different than I expected. Parts of the park felt so familiar, but then everything was different and turned around! It was kind of fun at times, but frustrating at other when we forgot to pick up a map and didn't have a clue how to get to something. :lmao:

We did have a nice weekend in Seattle, and the weather was luckily beautiful on Saturday! We went to a brand new playground that just opened a few weeks ago on Camano. Paxton had tons of fun! It rained off and on Sunday, but we weren't planning anything outdoors that day anyway. The temps were great!! I was so sad to have to come back to 90 degree weather in Louisiana.

______________

Hey everyone! We just got home last night, and surprisingly we are adjusting back to our home time pretty well. I'm working on rearranging, renaming, and uploading pictures from our trip, so hopefully *fingers crossed* I should be able to start my TR tomorrow!

All I kept doing was looking for the castle as my landmark to get back to the front of the park & seeing the Matterhorn. It really threw me off! :rotfl:
