Boo to you & AKV too!! **11/18**52 days to go, freaking out, a bag & next year!**

Ryan and his GF are really cute! It sound slike you had a fun party! I love the tents on the front lawn :goodvibes

Sorry for your DS having a rash! I hope you will find out what caused it and it will be something easily avoided if it turns out to be a food allergy. I knew a kid in school who got a rash from strawberries... Perhaps it was some kind of fruit? I just hope it wasn't tomatoes, they are so difficult to avoid!

Thanks! Young love is so cute :lmao:

The tents are too funny! We have so many people that we kinda had to start going outside! I have to move my dining room table so my sisters kids can sleep on air matresses in my dining room! So the front yard is a good option! The tents are getting big as our friends have kids too! LOL! I think everyone of the people who had a tent could have fit in the orange one in the picture! it was huge!!

Poor Ryan and the rash! There are so many kids today that have food allergies its crazy! We've been lucky so far! We had pasta last night with marinara sauce so we see  He's still sleeping (good boy) but Im going to look as soon as he gets up!

Thanks!

So did he wake up with a rash? As bad as tomatoes being the cause, it would be really nice to find the cause quickly. Are you keeping a food diary of any type?

No rash today! I'm not actually keeping a diary but I am keeping track in my head. The dr he saw wasn't our normal pediatrician because their office wasn't open on Sat. I figure of it happens again I'll take him to his pediatrician and go from there! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to do that!

I’m back!!

Yes, I finally back for another real update! Woohooo!!! I'm sorry this maybe long! I have a few things to fill you in on before I actually get into the really stuff! Sorry to be too long winded! Hope I don't bore anyone!

Anyway, I have to tell you something!

I’m a little ashamed of myself! :rolleyes1

I’m such a follower!! :lmao:

Shocking :scared1: I know! But all this talk about the Teva Mush Flip Flops on other PTR’s and TR’s got me a little bit a wondering!

I’ve been resisting for awhile! It was very hard to do! Shoes are in my bloodline! My Grandma, who DD is named after, was a shoe diva! She had hundreds of pairs of beautiful shoes! Of course, she was also always dressed to perfection! Kind of June Cleaver-esque, but better. I have no need for 100’s of pairs of nice shoes. Jeans and nice flats or a pair of boots are good enough for my stay at home mom lifestyle.

I do have a thing about flip flops though! I have bunches and bunches of them that I’ve acquired over the years! My favorites so far are 2 pairs of Tidewater flips that I got last summer. I have 1 with a flip flop design and 1 with a pirate design!

The Teva’s sounded soooo good I finally broke down Tuesday and did an little looky looing!

I immediately knew I wanted the purple ones cause purple happens to be my favorite color! But I was a little concerned I couldn’t get them in my size.

I have funny feet! I wear a size 9 or 9.5 but I always buy a size 10 flip flop because the front of my feet are very wide!

So I looked again yesterday morning and now I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of these babies!!

I even got free shipping and I got an email early yesterday afternoon that they had been shipped already! Yippee! My feetsies will be very happy!

Now I’ll have to see if they’ll do me good in WDW! Our trip in March was the first time I was brave enough to wear flip flops to the parks. I wore my pirate Tidewaters! I had no problems at all because their super comfy! I’m hoping the Mushies will be the same!

Now I’m going to share with you my little vent on our weather and what to do with 3 kids when it’s crappy out!! You must understand that it rained for the entire month of June! It was insane!! We had a stretch of pretty good weather for about 2 weeks and now it’s going downhill again! I’ve been trying to get the kids to the beach a lot since it is right down the street. But the temp hasn't been going much above 75 so once we get to the beach and factor in the breeze its not very warm! In fact, last week, which is the last time we actually go to the beach it was pretty chilly! My niece sat there wrapped in a towel and DSs lips started to turn blue!

So this week, Monday we were all too tired from the party over the weekend to do much of anything. I cleaned and did some scrapbooking, but that’s not the point! Tuesday it rained cats and dogs all day so no beach! Yesterday was a nice day but I had a giant sinus headache so no beach! Today, rain! Tomorrow, rain!

My point! I need to find something for these kids to do!!! Thank god for legos or I would go insane!! Both big kids love legos and play with them allllll day long. The only problem is that they argue over them!

I had the wonderful idea this morning to throw the kids in the car and run to walmart and buy a bunch of tee shirts and a bunch of dye and try my hand and tie dying mickey! Thanks to jenn-‘s inspiration! But then it occurred to me that DD would say “Mommy, why are we dying Mickey heads on shirts?” How could I explain that! I couldn’t, really. DD is too smart and wouldn’t take and out and out lie! Plus they would want to wear them and not save them for January. ERR!!! Do you think I could get them to clean the basement?! That way we’d be 1 step closer to a playroom down there. But, I’m thinking not on the kids cleaning! Hmmmm….

One last thing before I get on with the past!

My southwest morning! I was talking to DH this morning about the trip and airfare etc, etc! We have some ticketless travel funds on Southwest from changing our flight for our trip last January and I needed to make sure how and when we could use them.

It turns out I actually have to use the funds to travel by the middle of Sept! I can't apply them to our trip in January because they must be traveled with my the middle of Sept, not booked with :headache: So, I knew I was going to call SW and request a refund! Luckily, the tickets were refundable! We aren't going anywhere between now and the middle of sept :snooty:

Then I was looking at my rapid reward for SW. I was kinda hoping for a free ticket or 2 for January! Flying 10 people to Orlando isn't going to be cheap. At first the reward made no sense to me, actually they still don't.

So I called SW and spoke to a very nice women who processed my refund  almost $500!! I would have liked to have used it to go directly to our tickets for Jan but I put it aside when we get it and still us it for that. The thing is they issue the refundto the credit card you paid with. Ok, but we paid that card off and cancelled it. We've done the same with our other cards too! So now what? The women on the phone was completely at a loss. She had no idea what to tell me and said "Your the first person to ask me that So she had to get her supervisor. Turns our SW will issue the credit to the credit account # used and the CC company will send us a check :confused3 I'll be watching closly for this!

Then I asked her about my rapid rewards. I have an account and have 6 credits on it. I think you get 2 for every round trip. You need 16 for a free flight. Then it occured to me that I'm not getting credits for buying the kids tickets! So, the lady explained that you only get credit for YOUR flight no matter whose account it is and who pays

That truly stinks!!

So, no free flights for us!! I hope they have good fares! I may hold out a few monthes after the fares are released the beginning of Sept to see if prices come down! You can fly from LI to MCO for $90 1 way right now! That's a good deal to me!! I'm hoping to get something like that!

Ok, now I’ll stop babbling about shoes and get on with the past! Next post...

I believe I left offin the past just after our 05 trip wanting MORE!!!

It didn’t take me long to get that ache inside!

You all know that ache!!

The I want more WDW ache!

But I wasn’t sure what to do! DH is much more conservative financially then me. Convincing him to spend money on another trip to WDW might have proved hard. I

t could have even proved impossible.

If that had been the case I would have cried :guilty:

So, sometime mid-summer 05 DH and I took the kiddos out for a little family dinner at TGI Friday’s. Having already hatched a plan in my head to approach DH about another soon I dressed in my most favorite mickey tee shirt that I had purchased at WDW and we went off to dinner!

Mid-dinner I approached the subject!

I told DH that since we had had so much fun at WDW and since we had missed a lot (darn rookie mistakes) I wanted to go back!

He was surprisingly agreeable!

We quickly decided that Halloween 06 would be the perfect time to go!!

So the planning began!! We invited MIL and FIL to join us and they happily accepted! We decided to stay at WL since we had heard so many wonderful things about it!

I used the same travel agent as we had for 05 and made our reservations a whole year out!

The ADR system had moved to 6 months at that point so by April I was raring to go! Lots more research, reading, and a message board or 2 (although I hadn’t really found Dis yet) got me all prepared and much better prepared this time!

I planned everything out according to EMH’s, park preferences, ADRs, MNSSHP, etc, etc! We were ready to go!!

Along things changed a lot for our family! In April 06 DH left his job and became business partner with FIL. In May 06 left my job, that I hated, to become a SAHM and in hopes of having baby #3.

During our quest to have baby #3 we decided that the we wouldn’t try in Sept because we were concerned about early pregnancy at WDW. But, don’t ya know that during a trip to my parents over a weekend at the beginning of Oct I started to feel TERRIBLE! Really, I almost made DH pull the car over on the Cross Bronx Expressway :scared1::eek: on the way home so I could get sick!

We stopped at CVS on the way home and I headed to bathroom as soon as we walked in the door!

Positive!! Ryan was on his way!!

Luckily the terrible feeling didn’t last long and I was soon feeling good and happily pregnant!

WDW here we come!!

This trip we flew! Thank god! Southwest from our small regional airport direct to Orlando in 2 hours and 45 minutes is a beautiful, wonderful thing!!

October 28th – November 4th 2006! 7 nights, 8 days!

My sister (not the one were taking in Jan) her DS and DH happened to be traveling to WDW at the same time. But that’s a whole different ball of fun. I could put that in a different post entitled “the hijacking of our WDW vacation” but I'll spare you! We did a few things with them but I tried to keep it to a minimum because the trip was with MIL and FIL and was supposed to be a thank you for the trip we took in 05 and for all the things they do for us!

Now for a little photographic tour through our vacation…

Kiddos with Cindy

DisneyPhotoImage11.jpg

Us in MK! I look terrible in this picture but I still love it!

DD did BBB for the first time and it was truly magical! She had such a blast and looked so pretty! She really looked like Cinderella! When we got on the bus headed from DTD to WL the bus drive announced that princess Cinderella would be riding today and everyone clapped for her! It was so sweet!

MNSSHP was a blast! It was truly the best time EVER! We got lots and lots of complements on our costumes! I can’t wait to do it again! Fingers crossed for Oct 2010!

We ate at CP, CRT, HDDMR (FIL’s new found fav) 50’s PT, LTT, CM etc!

We truly had another magical vacation! I made it through, pregnant and all with flying colors!

I think at some point during MNSSHP DH began to get it. Really get it, you know what I mean! His closet Disney Nut thing started to blossom!

Of course again we left wanting more!

But with a baby on the way when would that Disney ache be cured?!

First, I have to say, I love your shoes! ;):rotfl: They are a great buy! I am really liking mine, I hope you do too!

I just love all the memories - the story about the bus driver announcing Cinderella and everyone clapping makes me tear up! I'm such a sap. But really, where else do you find that sort of thing???? NOWHERE! Ahhh, I love Disney World!

What a truly, truly magical trip. :goodvibes

I have a bit of a personal question - when you quit your job in '06, your kids would have been around 5 and 3, right? Was it hard to adjust at first to being SAH? I am always half tempted to quit. We could afford it. Things would be MUCH tighter, but we could do it. And I would make it my personal mission to find ways to save a buck here and there. I do like my job (usually), so, it goes back and forth with me....I just wonder how hard it is to go from working full-time outside of the home to being a SAHM...any input on that would be great to hear! :goodvibes

Oh I am feeling guilty now... :rolleyes1 But I hope you will love your Tevas as much as I love mine! :goodvibes

I loved your trip recap! When I saw your DD's picture after the BBB I immediately thought that she really looks like Cinderella! And your DS's face painting as lion is amazing!

Oh my goodness they arrived last night at like 6pm via UPS! They came overnight and shipping was free:cool1: I'm wearing them now and they are super duper comfy! I'm in love  and my feetsies are happy

I'm a sap too!:cool1: I cant tell you how times I tear up during any given trip! Looking at the old scrapbooks gets me totally choked up! I just love all the magical moments WDW gives to us we've had soooo many and I know there are so many more to come!

No problem! When I quit my job the kids were 5 and 3! Quiting my job was not a hard decision to make because I absolutely hated my job at that point! I had worked there for almost 5 years and was done with the junk! I was completely stressed and completely cranky! Not to mention I was having anxiety attacks because I hated it so much!

DH became business partners with FIL and then he got baby lust when a close friend had a baby! :rotfl:At first we had talked about me getting pregnant and not going back to work after the baby was born. But then it occured to us that the state I was in was no way to be healthy during pregnancy!

During my other 2 pregnancies I had work I had no choice. Especially because both of them were suprises!! :lmao: After DD was born I didn't go back to work for 9 months because I got laid off and was able to collect unemployment. After that ran out I got the job I left in May 06. I worked there through my pregnancy with DS6 and returned 3 months after he was born.

When I left we were a little worried about the financial end of it but wouldn't have done it if it wasn't swingable. We've been very, very blessed and lucky that DH and FIL have a great business going and that has been able to support us. Even now business is as strong as ever (knocking on ever single piece of wood in the house and crossing fingers and toes!)

The transition from working mom to sahm was a little tough. Going from having something to do everyday to being at home was a little boring after awhile. I'm the type of person who has to do something! If I don't I get cranky.:scared1: That's were the scrapbooking and crafty things come in! I have something to do besides housework etc.

But honestly I think the transition was harder for my MIL and FIL! LOL!! MIL watched the kids while I worked and FIL works from home. Not having the kids in the house everyday was VERY hard on them! FIL actually teared up when he told me how much he missed his grandkids being in the house!

Not having adults around, besides DH, gets a little much sometimes too! But that can be fixed by playgroups and such!

I also find that from time to time I need so alone time! Really, with 3 kids I can't get a minute alone, they even follow me into the bathroom! Finding the time to do something alone, besides going grocery shopping, is very important! Even if it's only an hour or 2 every couple of weeks! It's still alone time!

Quiting my job was one of the best things I've ever done! Spending the time with the kiddos is better then anything in the world! Being able to be a soccer mom, run to the school to have lunch with the kids, to be able to take Ryan for a walk alone and see him explore the world is all stuff I cherish and no amount of money I could earn would ever replace that. Kids grow up way to fast these days and ever single moment counts!

About 8 months after I left my job I went to my old office to go out to lunch with 2 of my friends from work. My old boss called me into her office and asked what it would take to get me to come back after the baby was born (I was visibly pregnant with Ryan) I told her, in all honesty, there was no amount of money and no amount of perks she could offer me to get me to come back because I had the best job in the world now!

Have you tried working part time? I had gone back and forth with working full and part time in the almost 5 years I worked there depending on their need. Most of the time I worked between about 24 hours a week, 6 hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Wednesday off.

As much as I love being a sahm there are days I'd like to pull my hair out, but you have that with anything. DH loves having me home and hates the thought that I may consider going back to work after Ryan is in school.

I hope that helps!! If you have anymore questions or anything let me know!

:lmao:LOL!!Between you and Brook my feet were asking me to buy them!! They actually came last evening!!Not only was shipping free but they came overnight! I'm wearing them now and I LOVE them!!

Awww thanks!! I love those pictures! She's totally my little princess and she's growing up soooo fast!

DS looked so cute!! He kept growling at me! :lmao: Unfortunately the paint go itchy and he insisted I had to take it off! I think it only lasted an hour!

Looks like that was a really fun trip. Glad to know my kids aren't the only ones that didn't appreciate their face painting long. All of ours demanded the swimming pool shortly after they were painted up. I must admit that was easier to swallow than when DD and her cousin did BBB and then wanted to go swimming an hour later. Needless to say we will not be doing BBB again any time soon.

I can't do flip flops at all. I am glad you are finding them comfortable though.

We had a great trip!!

LOL! The face painting thing was a interesting! When we went in January the 2 older kids and I all got it done (yes, I got my face painted and I may do it again ;) ) It lasted a lot longer this trip! Johnny's lasted a few hours until we went back to the hotel and DD and I kept it on until the end of the night!

I love me some god flip flops!! I know a lot of people cant stand something between their toes and stuff. It doesn't bother me at all!

Just read your PTR-I was so glad to read about your sister-brought a smile to my face...and now she has a family and you have an even larger family...:goodvibes

I haven't seen the AKV yet (next month) but assuming its like the AKL-your going to love it...:cool1:

I envy your Halloween trip-the pictures look like so much fun...

I'm hoping to go at that time of year next time...which hopefully won't be too long...(I'd like to surprise my dd with a 16th birthday celebration there next year...:cloud9:...so hopefully...

I'm looking forward to reading more...

I'm so glad you like your Mushies! :thumbsup2

And THANK YOU for all the SAHM info. I really appericate it. I am so torn over it. When I was pregnant, I had no plans of going back. While I liked my job, the pay was PEANUTS for the stress it was. So I told my boss that and we worked out a "work from home part time" deal, which I did until Henry was about 5 months old. At which point I was offered a really great promotion and a LARGE increase in pay. I took it on the condition that if I didn't like it, I could go back.

And I've been in that position for about 1.5 years now.

I don't know if I asked to be moved to part-time if they would allow it anymore due to the financial stress on my company. We aren't in any sort of threat to close, or even lay people off, BUT, we are in a hiring freeze...so I don't know what their response would be.

I think I would have a similar experience as you do to it all. Some days I would want to pull my hair out, but when it all came down to it, it would be the best job ever! I just haven't a clue what I would do all day with Henry in the winter here! I think we'd frequent the library...and I suppose, like you said, that is what play groups are for. :thumbsup2

Oh the decisions. It's tossed around on a weekly basis in our house. My co-workers would FLIP if I quit due to my position and the hiring freeze - our team is already short 2 people and it's very evident some days. But, I can't think about them, I have to think about what's best for me and my family. In ways, I also want to homeschool Henry and any possible future children....

Rambling, rambling...way off topic! Let's see, how can I relate this to Disney?

Hmm...If I quit, we wouldn't have any random "let's go in September!" trips probably! Thankfully we'd still be able to go, and I would make it a personal mission to save and earn anyway I could so we could go comfortably!

We stayed at AKL in 05 and loved it! I cannot wait until we get to see Kidani!!

LOL! I'm loving the Mushies!! I'll be wearing them tonight to our beach party! If they take my feet through that theyll definitely take them through WDW ;) I just love chasing 3 kids around the beach in the dark!

Being a SAHM is such a hard decision. Sometimes I want to get a job, sometimes I think that's a crazy idea! Sometimes I want to feel like Im contributing to the family financially, especially after adding the expense of DVC, but then I think I contribute more then enough around the house ;) Sometimes I'd like to run screaming from the house pulling my hairout and sometimes I'm just so in awe my kids and being able to watch them grow!

Its definitely not for everyone, just like anything! But it really is so wonderful and perfect for me!

Love the pictures from the last trip before Ryan! (or so I think it was the last one before he was born LOL) Do the older kids like to look at those pictures and remember when you were just a family of 4 or does it not really phase them?

That's so sweet that the bus driver announced Cinderella would be riding when your DD got on! There's nowhere else in the world that can make kids (or adults, in our case) feel like they do when they're in WDW :wizard:

Awww...I just love going back in time with your family and seeing them as they have grown up at Disney!!!!!

I love that you are keeping this trip a surprise!! I can't wait for the big reveal!!

Yup, that was the last trip before Ryan was born! There was no way I was going to be able to convince DH to go back with in 8 months or so!

Ya know, it's funny you ask about the older kids because I don't really know the answer to that question :lmao: I think they kinda use his birth as a mark in their lives. Before Ryan, after Ryan.

That bus driver definitely added magic to the day! It was so sweet and she was so happy!

Awww...I just love going back in time with your family and seeing them as they have grown up at Disney!!!!!

I love that you are keeping this trip a surprise!! I can't wait for the big reveal!!

Thanks! I love watching them grow through the trips! I still cant get over the changes! The chubby baby faces are gone etc, etc. It brings tears to my eyes!!

The kiddos are going to be sooo suprised and excited!! They talk about WDW and I keep remindingthem that we don't have a trip planned and we probably won't go back until we go with Grandma and Grandpa in December of 2010! Their going to even more suprised that their cousins are going too!!!

Hello Disers!!

I'm back with an update!

Aren't you excited?!

I know I said at the beginning, all 6 pages ago, that I didn't have any plan whatsoever besides, dates and cast.

But, over the past few days the OPD (obsessive planning disorder) in me has gotten the best of me! So, I started working on the plan!

Before I get into that I want to finish Disney Past! That way no, including me, gets confused!!

So, on with Disney Past!

Umm, no sorry!!! Psych!!

I haven't finished that update yet! I should be posting it in the next day or so!

But, it keep you happy and interest and because some people wanted to see I do have pictures of my recently finished scrapbook of our Jan 09 trip! Sorry that the pictures are a little blurry and some of them are a little crooked! But, you get the point!

More next post!

WOW...what amazing layouts...okay I have to ask where did you find those cutout/stickers for your Chef Mickey page...I have to own those!! I can't believe you are done with your Jan 09 scrapbook I'm barely started, my TR isn't even done yet LOL (but that is summer vacations faults LOL)!!
