I am at BWV now (posting from LTE not wifi, a whole separate problem). Here are photos of the tops on the dining and coffee tables. The tables have not been abused by guests. The refinishing just isn't holding up. It has only been a few years. Can't imagine how bad these will be by the next refurbisent.

I do not like the way that looks. Thanks for posting the pics. But I would also share these concerns with the BWV manager as well as DVC satisfaction team. That is a very sad condition. :sad1:

Wow, I'm shocked at how badly they have held up. I wonder how aware DVC is about the condition and is it isolated to a few tables/rooms?

Jean those look terrible. I also would pass along the pictures with your comments to Member Satisfaction. I'm all for paying for refurbs with my dues, but I hope that Disney would choose a quality-enough product to make it last until the next one.

Maybe this is why they did the crackle finish on the OKW tables. Then nobody will notice if it's not holding up!

Kathy,
Seriously, I thought this very thing. And I have to admit that the alligator finish has grown on me. At first I thought it was totally ugly but now I feel it is okay.

The OKW Dining tables are not crakled, only the coffee table. The dining tables are solid dark, dark brown or black and seem to be holding up OK...at least i the unit I'm currently staying in. That does look bad for BWV.

Remember around 2000 they had to replace/repaint the siding at BWV. I believe they went after the manufacturer and possibly the contractor as well. Maybe they will have to do this again. Please send the pics to management at BWV as well as DVC.

Wow, that looks bad. We were at BWV in Sept and our table was fine (1 br LO SV). Hope your situation is just an anomaly.

I never understand it, why DVC does not pay for quality work/materials up front when the actual renovations are occurring. It costs more in the long run when they try to scrimp on refurbishing materials/work. The hard and soft goods do not hold up. I know it is our dues paying for refurbishing but we pay either way, up-front or over the long haul when replacing items or redoing work.

Hopefully the inferior materials and shoddy work is a thing of the past now that Claire is on board.

:) Kate

I'm at BWV right now too. Our coffee table looks a bit rough but the dining table looks to be holding up much better. Having a great stay!

Wow..our tables last year were fine...we will be back in 10 days :cheer2: and I'll be sure to see what they look like
